Oh boy, you guys are going to have some fun with this. My last name is pronounced chee-ya as in the "Chia Pet". No my uncle does not own the company that makes them, although that would be pretty cool.

Hey, Joiner! I wish I would have known you were at UK working...we were looking for a High Pi because Bob Brown had to resign...
Well, now, we have Brian Ayers who graduated not too long ago, we are trying to get him approved, even though it hasn't been two years since he graduated.
Maybe we can use you as our faculty advisor next year, hehe.

I knew you were looking for a High Pi, but
Bobby McD (a previous EPhi High Pi from Gtown)
told me he was it now/again!
Bobby's been known to "exxagerate" a bit....but I
know his mom has been very sick so maybe he
changed his mind.
Haven't had alot of time to "drop by" the
EPhi house, eventhough I pass it every weekday.
You might suggest a good time for some old
alum from a "foreign" chapter to drop in.

Kevin,
A good time to "drop by" would be November 12. I am not quite sure on the exact time yet, as I am in Owensboro tending to family matters. But, I will be there in full stride, for what may be my last big dog appearance, after which I will pass the torch for my most sacred position, just as it was passed to me. I will email you about the times and what not as soon as I find out from my big bro, who is now the High Phi.

My old roomates last name was pronounced the same way, but was spelled 'Chia'. Just like the pet. His dad was Cuban. He said thats where it came from.

My last name, Ciha, is Bohemian. Although the seeds that come with Chia Pets come from the Chia plant which grows in
Central and South America, just FYI.

Hi Jono.
We started as a local founded in 1940, and were installed in 1945.

Chris, does it take longer for Colonies longer in Canada to be Chartered than In USA?
Kidding, dont be to serious! Damn long time to be around and Congratulations for sure.
Chipster, I can feel for your plight and What You Went throug, ALMOST!
What is nice is that you have a place to come to or a if not many Brothers to come to and find Solace and Help. Am I aware of your situation, yes I am and you know from whom. While I never had the pleasure of meeting you. I feel that I know you as a Brother. Maybe one of these days We can sit with a Flaggin of a Tody of sorts along with Jono and just kick back and BS and have a Great Time!
In ZAX,

Damn Chip. Great essay. Its amazing how the fraternity continues to inspire all of us. Its something indescribable that resides deep within each of us. Its what keeps me involved 12 years after I was initiated. I care more about it and it continues to grow in meaning for me. You did a damn good job of describing it in your essay. Hats off to you bro.

What lifesaver said.
It came home a lot when I was at General Assembly.
Meeting many of the Brothers from GC there, not as strangers but as Brothers bonding as one and meeting for the first time.
Jono of course as I visited BN and He in turn LX.
But then the first day, meeting Mike, Kevin, and Andy in the Alum meeting. Oh, cannot forget Bud one of My Guys who is High Pi at UNLV.
The nightly meets in Jonos and My room with a Few of the Brothers where We just talked and relaxed.
While We were strangers in a sense, We really werent at all. Out smoking with Kevin and some of the other Brothers, there was a feeling of electricity amongst us. The Picture of G C Brothers is near and dear to me and is hady to look at remember us all there.
It matters not that John G. and Jon S. are in Cal. or Matt is in Fl. or Chip is NM or Cooper is in Canada, Andy is in Tx. Kevin is in Ky, ETC! We are all there for each other.
This is what makes me proud to be a LXA!
