Wisconsin-La Crosse Delta Sigma Phi Update
We're starting a new tradition this year with a Bid Night Dinner and are going to be handing out 11 bids to high quality guys. There's every reason to believe we'll land all 11 and there's a few more guys we might pick up before Sunday, when our fall rush closes.
Even if it's just those initial 11, that's our biggest pledge class in years and the first time we've broken double digits since Fall '97 (ironically the semester I would've pledged, had I gone to UW-L out of high school).
An incredible rebound from a dry period we had for a few years and it ensures that we'll stay strong, despite losing 7 guys to graduation this fall and spring.

UW-La Crosse Delta Sigma Phi Final Fall Numbers
New Pledges: 7
We pinned them last night and it was very good times. Although we would've liked the double digits we thought we were going to get, 7 is still one of our largest classes in recent memory.
I'll try and get the numbers for the other two fraternities when I can.

Thanks LaneSig and sigtau305.
sigtau305, you'll be happy to know that here at UW-La Crosse, Sigma Tau Gamma led the fraternities in new pledge class size with 10 members this fall.
Sigma Alpha Epsilon I still haven't heard about, though.

Grand Valley State University
"Formal Recruitment" lasted from September 4th through October 6th. Hardly formal though. The only aspect really qualifying it as formal is bid acceptance on the 6th. : - / IFC's VP of Recruitment messed up big time.
Continuous open bidding is highly encouraged on our campus though only a couple chapters utilize it (mine being one of them).
Fraternities:
Alpha Sigma Phi
Delta Sigma Phi
Sigma Phi Epsilon
Sigma Pi
Theta Chi
We've lost two chapters in the past four years. TKE due to disciplinary reasons and Lambda Chi Alpha finally lost their three year battle with their nationals to keep their charter (they lost it for low numbers. They had eight members last year. Four graduated).

haha so maybe a little late but...
The University of Texas at Austin had recruitment at the very end of August:
ACACIA
Alpha Epsilon Pi
Alpha Tau Omega
Beta Theta Pi
Chi Phi
Delta Chi
Delta Sigma Phi
Delta Tau Delta
Kappa Sigma
Lambda Chi Alpha
Phi Delta Theta
Phi Gamma Delta
Phi Kappa Theta
Pi Kappa Alpha
Sigma Alpha Epsilon
Sigma Alpha Mu
Sigma Phi Epsilon
Sigma Pi
Tau Kappa Epsilon
Theta Chi
Zeta Beta Tau
I also know that there is a Phi Kappa Psi (cancelled through Feb 2007), a Delta Kappa Epsilon, and a Kappa Alpha chapter who all took pledges this semester (as some of my friends were among them) but aren't listed. Could someone explain to me how exactly that works?
