If you haven't been to Pittsburgh, you really don't know how much it's changed since its "Smoky City" reputation. It's almost always one of the top ten places to live because of its variety of things to do, education, comparatively low housing and other "quality of life" factors. It's easy to knock that which you don't know.

I did my Master's at Pitt in '06-'08. I really loved Pittsburgh and was sad to move on, and I still miss it quite a bit. I met live-in there (also a Pitt student, at the time). It's not an issue of knocking the city, I just love that particular strip.

I LOVE Calvin!!
We have several of the C&H bathtime strips enlarged and hanging on our kids' bathroom walls -- Back and Forth, Back and Forth, ... TIDAL WAVE!! (Beats me, Mom, maybe there's a leak in the faucet.) I think my faves are anything involving Spaceman Spiff, discussion of Dad's standing in "the polls", Rosalind (sp?) the evil babysitter, Calvin's haircut by Hobbes, or the snowmen. Sometimes we have to put the C&H books away, though, because my little guys start channeling him; he's a fine cartoon character, but I wouldn't and don't want to be his mom!
