I noticed a mistake in the list... My chapter (Beta Epsilon of Monmouth College) re-colonized in 1997, not 1999!

Updated the list to include Iota Iota and Iota Kappa chapters.

Epsilon Gamma - Georgia Southern. This chapter was installed a second time because they closed again in 1999. I roomed with one of their chapter members at Convention in '99. It was so heart-breaking because she cared about the chapter so much.

Epsilon Gamma is Western Carolina. Epsilon Sigma is Georgia Southern. I found out recently that I work with one of the colony members from the recolonization of Georgia Southern. Great young woman.

Can you ask her when the recolonization was? I guessed from my 1999 directory at 1994 and updated the list ... but it would be nice to have it confirmed....

Well, I'm glad that you posted the dates of the recolonization because there were girls in AZD jerseys in the freshman orientation booklet when my daughter started at Ga Southern in 2000. Then we got the rush booklet and we were confused--no Alpha Xi listed.
Then when the first post about this said the chapter closed in '79, I was like, "Huh? They used a 21-year-old picture in the manual?" Finally I know about Alpha Xi at Southern.

Sorry to crash your boars, but thought I may be able to help with this one... Alpha Xi did re-colonize at Georgia Southern with Fall 94 being their first formal recruitment. I am unsure of when they closed, as they were still on campus when I left in 1997. I would think that 99 would probably be about right though.

When I was at Georgia Southern in the mid-90's I had some friends who were part of the initial colonization in 1994. Recently when I went back to visit the GSU website I saw that they were no longer there. I am sorry to hear that they closed down...was it due to numbers? They seemed to get off on such a great start...

I'm confused too, because I'm 99% sure the girls that came over from Georgia to help us out last recruitment were from GA Southern.

Becky,
The girls who came and helped us during recruitment were from West Georgia - Zeta Omega. The only reason I remembered this is because one of Angie's friends from high school also went there.

BW Alpha Xi Delta
Hello... I attended Baldwin-Wallace College at the time of the Beta Kappa Chapter closing. I am not a sister, but one of my dear friends was an Alpha Xi Delta at that time. I still remember her coming to my house late one night in tears when she found out her chapter would be closing. I still remember just being devastated for her and her dear sisters. It was during the 1998-1999 school year. I am sorry that I cannot recall the season, but I definately know that was during that school year.
