Just curious, are you getting married or something? because you talk about bridal shit a lot. Just asking.

LOL!! Ah, some of us girls just like wedding stuff. Pretty to look at. Some of us have also been bridesmaids, Maids of honor, etc. Just spreading the wedding love.

I wandered into a David's Bridal while on vacation and found a bridesmaid's dress I LOVE.

Two problems: It was on clearance, so I don't know how I'd get one for each of my "of honors" (they searched on the computer, but they didn't have the likely sizes they need anywhere near us); and I haven't picked MY dress yet! It's a style that would totally dictate what sort of dress I wear. I wish I could take this dress to someone and get them to recreate it in white, though.

^^^You know, if you find a good seamstress in your area, she might just be able to recreate it for you. Custom is the way to go if you REALLY aren't finding something you like.

I guess my guidelines would be knee length cocktail dresses in black, navy, or jewel tone purple, with a 40's or 50's feel (or just something classic), and silver or nude heels or flats. However, a pictures says a thousand words.

Thoughts? Do these go or not really? It will look a little disjointed but I think I like the effect overall. I really don't want my best friends to look matchy-matchy, we all have very different style and body types and tastes. Plus I'm trying to get the dress and shoes to be under $100 for the BMs. We will see how that goes. These dresses are all from Modcloth and the shoes I just searched for, but I'd be fine with Payless or Target shoes if that's what they had. Also what do you think of the shoes? Could I maybe add in other colors (black, navy, red even?) Thanks for any help.
I love this/the idea of different dresses! I'm so far from married but it's always been something I've wanted to do!

I also love all of the Lilly. I want that navy and white dress!

I do have a very plain idea in mind, which could be dressed up or down, but I may have to have them made.

What about worst bridesmaid dresses you've worn? I'm not claiming the top honors yet, but I am searching the images of Carmen Miranda to give y'all an idea of the atrosity I was forced to wear!

My best friend is getting married Sept 18 and it's a vintage wedding...
this is her dress (i dont think she is wearing the little cardigan thing)
the dress is ivory and she has a champagne sash that goes around her waist for the ceremony and then for the reception she is switching to a pink sash. her jewelry changes between the ceremony and reception as well

being her MOH and only member of the bridal party (just a moh and best man), i got to pick what i wanted!!

http://www.davidsbridal.com/Product_...esmaid-Dresses

it's in truffle...and it has pockets and i love it!

the groom and best man are wearing ivory shirts, khaki pants (from nordstroms), suspenders, and a tie! not traditional at all!

i'll try to post a picture after the wedding!

If I were getting married tomorrow (not even close) and if money were no object (it definitely will be):

Wedding dress/shoes, bridesmaids dress (I plan on having 3 max, but possibly just one), reception dress and shoes.

I wore that bridesmaid dress for a wedding I was in a month ago, but in the Lapis color. Ever since then, I've seen at least 3 others who were in weddings or brides who had their bridesmaids wear that dress, and all in different colors!

deltag_girl, your friend's dress in on my short list! But, I would have to wear some sort of cardigan thing - no sleeveless at the church. I also want my tartan rosette.

As for BluPhire's questionning the Groomsmen attire, Mr. SID won't wear a kilt, the spoilsport! I do think I've got him talked into a tartan cumberbund, though.
