I understand what James was getting at. Who needs to worry about the stress of a wedding while unemployed (even if they can afford it)?

Thanks for all the encouragement guys!
It's kinda of hard to postpone a wedding that's a month away. And we're not the type of people to let a little thing like being laid off get in the way of a wedding we've planned for two years -- we're stronger than that.
A little update -- I'm going back home in a week! Fiance's parents are letting us stay in their guest house (where we've lived for most of our relationship) until we get back on our feet. My fiance has a fantastic job back home, and I have a job in the family business (event planning) all set up (where I'll be making twice as much as I was making at this old job!). Sometimes it just takes a while to realize where you're supposed to be in life, you know? An awful situation can sometimes seem impossible to overcome, but then you might end up in a situation better than you were to begin with. So things are definitely looking brighter! Thanks again for all your well wishes -- I definitely needed them!

I am soooo glad to hear things are gonna work out! I think that maybe you can get out of your lease if you are moving more than 50 miles away because of a job transfer/loss. Check that out with an attorney from that state. This is the kind of thing they should just be able to tell you over the phone or for a very small fee. That way you won't get busted up over rent at a place you aren't living!Good luck and congratualtions on your wedding!!!!!
