This might sound like a stupid questions (although the teacher in me is saying "there is no such thing as a stupid question") but, the way I'm understanding the community sororities is that NPC women could possibly join a community sorority? Am I correct in that assumption? Wouldn't it be considered the same if you were NPC and you were also in a honorary? I'm really tired so my brain is kind of fried when it comes to NPC rules.

Yes, a woman can be a member of both an NPC group and a community sorority. We have quite a few Beta Sigma Phi's on GC who are also members of NPC groups.

Also, along the same lines as community groups, but with a "Fraternal" bond are the Moose Lodge, Eagles Lodge and Elks...Rebecca's and Odd Fellows, too, plus "The Grange".
I can speak about the Moose Lodge in my area as DH and I are members...there are a lot of 30-somethings in the lodge. There is a ritual and not only does the Moose support community, kids and local philranthropies, they also support their own children's home--Mooseheart (it is a saving grace for some kids) and Moosehaven for the elderly.

Just wanted to jump in here and say hello from a PHQ of Job's Daughter's, MM of Rainbow for Girls and Member of Easter Star. I have never heard of the three year rule either to be honest. I'm still hoping to hear back from ***** about Alumnae Membership
Good luck to all

If you're going to put your name out there, please, remove the sorority your persuing. You don't know who on this board could be an ****** higher up and ruining your chances of joining...
/Just saying....

As I said further up thread, I think the 3 year rule applies to those who are not related (blood or marriage) to Masons but joined Rainbow or Job's through their friends.
And as AlphaFrog said, you really need to remove the sorority's name or you may be kissing your chance to join goodbye.

There have been quite a few similar posters lately. But I'll give them the benefit of the doubt until they show us otherwise.

Oh I'm not saying you shouldn't. Just seems like they all pop in here with kids and grad school and such.

OES
I myself am a member of the Order of the Eastern Star. To answer your questions: the 3 year membership involving Job's Daughters is in fact if you are not related to a Master Mason. As for women and men that are not a part of Job's Daughters, membership is limited to:
Only men who are Masons are eligible and only women with specific Masonic affiliation may be members. These affiliations include:
- Affiliated Master Masons in good standing,
- the wives
- daughters
- legally adopted daughters
- mothers
- widows
- sisters
- half sisters
- granddaughters
- stepmothers
- stepdaughters
- stepsisters
- daughters-in-law
- grandmothers
- great granddaughters
- nieces
- mothers-in-law
- sisters-in-law
- majority rainbow girls
- majority jobs daughters
and daughters of sisters or brothers of affiliated Master Masons in good standing, or if deceased were in good standing at the time of their death; each of whom shall have attained to at least the age of eighteen (18) years, are eligible to membership in the Order of the Eastern Star.
See the OES website for more information: http://www.easternstar.org
