I wish, especially as a new chapter, they had been represented at the "All Sisters" event, with the NPC Chair as keynote, held at UTC on Sunday afternoon. It was co-sponsored by the College Panhellenic & the Alumnae Panhellenic.
When you have a chapter with 150 chapter members, you can be represented at both events during the weekend.
I should have kept my mouth shut, but knowing how hard my Alumnae Panhellenic friends worked on this event -- hoping that all groups would be represented -- I said what I felt. It was surprising to me to see a thread for the very group that was a no-show at a major Panhellenic event on their campus. FSUZeta, I do apologize for not showing restraint.

Maybe you should mind your own business, especially since you so rudely barged into the Gamma Phi Beta forum. What a chapter of another GLO chooses to do or NOT to do has no bearing on you in the least. Focus on Chi Omega and leave Gamma Phi to the Gamma Phis.

First off, what an amazing story! The Gamma Phi's at UTC showed panhellenic spirit. I LOVE THAT!
As for NutBrnHair, all I can say is WOW to her comments and the snottiness it embodied and YEAH to everyone else for saying "hey not cool".

Let's not allow NutBrnHair to ruin a nice thread. She clearly doesn't understand, because for her, Chi Omega is the be all and end all. She would rather earn a round of applause for simply standing up and "throwing what she knows" than help someone in need.

My Chi Omega mother in law is undoubtedly rolling in her grave at the idea of that woman representing her beloved sorority.

I'd like to think that any NPC Chair, no matter her own sorority affiliation, would be pleased to hear that members of one sorority volunteered to support another sorority's philanthropic event, and that she'd consider this an example of the Panhellenic camaraderie she likely espoused in her speech.
I'll admit that representation at the event would have been appropriate, but my guess is that there was probably some mix-up or misunderstanding...eg. they thought it was an alumnae event.

We do not know definitively if there was no Gamma Phi Beta representation, do we? Can't count on one person's report, which was apparently based on whether or not someone stood up and threw a handsign. Good grief. That's real scientific.
Here's why: as an alumna, there is no way I'm going to stand up and "throw what I know". That's not me. I just don't do it. Others can delight in it. I don't. So I would have remained seated and not drawn attention to myself.
Who takes roll call anyway at a Panhellenic event? Why? What is the point? Who cares?
Bless her heart.

"Bless her heart"....that really made the southern girl in me smile this morning!
And as a Gamma Phi, I am so proud of the Panhellenic spirit my sisters showed, helping a ZTA alum in need.

Might I suggest that she also send a note to Gamma Phi Beta's IHQ?
