I think what we need to do is see what Alumnae Associations involve the Western PA/Eastern OH area, and which schools are involved, and compare schedules. Maybe we can hold two Jewel Degrees to cover the whole area, so if seniors can't make the one, they can make the other. And more importantly, there would be enough alumnae involved to do the ritual properly!

I feel your pain. I'm currently catching up to my "dangledom" and am working with a jeweler to mix the colors without the whole thing looking tacky.

**Bump**

I bought my Jewel Degree dangle this weekend at DLC. I didnt realize it was 21 bucks!! It was so cute though I had to have it, plus our Finance advisor pressured me into it by teling me what was 21 dollars for a life time commitment lol.

I also bought my advisor dangle.

Ugh, I think Giftmart via the web is charging 25 and then S & H. When Jennie told me that Giftmart was at DLC I told her I wish I knew I would have sent her some money to buy some shirts and dangles.

Even though I've never been to a Convention, my understanding is that there are always new items that Gift Mart wants to see if they will sell, so they're fairly inexpensive.

My friend has gotten some VERY nice things there. Have y'all seen the large diamond laviliere, the one that costs over $700? She got one at Convention for $350!!

So, those of y'all who are planning on going, start saving NOW!!

Actually its also 21 bucks on Giftmart as well, but at least you dont have to pay for S&H. They had copies of the catalog at DLC and I flipped through it before I bought my dangles because I thought they jacked up the prices for DLC.

I couldnt believe the dangles are now 12 bucks!!! I remember not even 2 yrs ago they were 7.50 each.

Reading this reminded me that USC JD last year was when I met you, HB, and my voice was GONE that morning. I don't know how I ran the ritual!

Wow, the price of dangles has jumped! The JD dangle is very pretty... I wonder how much of the cost is profit for the manufacturer and how much is actual production cost? It seems that not many women get a guard with their pins these days, so it may be the lack of demand is driving up the price per piece. It would seem logical that they are making new kinds of dangles in an attempt to drum up interest again.

I found a lot of older things over the weekend, including a receipt for some things I ordered from Gift Mart. Believe it or not, I paid $7.00 for dangles!!! Granted, they were white gold, not yellow, but I think it says a LOT that prices haven't changed that much in mumble mumble mumble years!!

But I totally have to have the Jewel Degree Dangle! It was the inspiration of how I'm having my dangles/pins connected. I feel too sentimental to NOT wear my Initiation pin, but so many of my other pins are yellow gold, so I'm doing the somewhat tacky thing and mixing the two.

I can't believe I don't own this dangle - and that I didn't know it existed!! I tried to stay away from the Giftmart table at DLC, but still managed to get a new bookbag for my many manuals.

Speaking of JD and FD... We have 3 active associations and 1 starting up and we still barely had enough alumnae for JD last year! This year may be an issue, too, though I won't post the details here...

Any alumnae in the NY/NJ/CT/PA area interested in coming out to Staten Island on May 1 to confer Jewel Degree (after Founder's Day bruch or tea, depending on the location we secure)????

I just found out that my old chapter Alums are holding JD for those that haven't had it on April 30th!!!!! I'm so excited---I've been waiting a long time for this.

Honey---don't worry about mixing the colors.......I do it all the time. I have about 15 bracelets that I wear all the time, and they are in YG, WG, and silver. It looks great together, and then I never have to worry about mixing or not. Have no fear---Mix Away!!!! I think it would look fabulous to have both!
