You guys don't understand how annoying it is to be called this IRL, because people don't see the spelling, or the "h", they only hear poo. A name is important because it's going to be with me forever. The rest of my pledge class got pretty decent names, mine is the only one that is shit.

Did you miss when I mentioned that I have Brothers with nicknames that mean masturbation and genitals? 5 years later, they're doing just fine.

The funny thing about a nickname is that it isn't actually your name. If the nickname "Pooh" is just too much for you to handle, drop the fraternity because, obviously, your nickname is going to dictate the direction of your entire life. (sarcasm)

Just step back for a second and think about how ridiculously worked up you're getting over something so small!

You can also ask him if he would be willing to change it.

You know, a friend of mine also had the pledge name as pledge, although I think its his brother name too. He played a club sport with several previously greek members who all called him pledge while he was pledging so it just correlated to the fraternity. I think his jersey has pledge written on the back. Oddly enough he was the rush chair for Spring (different fraternity than mine)

Haha.. I was Upledge. And yes, that was my official nickname. Inside joke and a long story, but yea. Kinda funny.

I knew a Boner in college. Yes, Boner. Thirteen years later - we don't call him that anymore.

Honestly? The only time it's an issue is if the young lady you happen to be intimate with refers to you as Pooh instead of your given name. (It's funny how you can always tell who is hitting it with whom because the girl starts calling the guy by his real name.)

When y'all get comfortable with each other and you become "Hey dickhead" or "What's up, asshole," I think you'll long for the "Pooh" days. Get over it.

My aunt calls me Pooh and I don't even get to hide under the "Meh, it's a Greek thing" cover. Take it from someone who's been called Pooh IN PUBLIC for years--stop whining, getchu some hunny, and have a seat. It ain't that bad.

QFP.

If this is all it takes to sap your motivation, no offense, but you're apparently very thin-skinned.
