i was thisclose to turning in my app for an org, but they had a moratorium on intake that semester. it was heartbreaking but a blessing in disguise as i later discovered it was def not the org for me.
(is my semi-rejection the best this thread is gonna get? damn)

Nah. People have openly talked about not making it the first time on GC before, just not in one place.

Yeah,
I don't think I even know of someone in this situation. In my experience the rejected applicant rarely ever applies a second time. I find they take it super personal and turn to org haters after the fact.

Submitted only once, but it took me a long bit to get to the stage where I could even do that.

Well I do know of somebody that was rejected a couple of times by the same org only to be accepted her senior year.
Only problem I don't know if telling the story would violate NPHC discretion rules so I will leave it as vague as I described it above.
Does getting rejected but going grad count? If so I know a lot of them as well.

Nope--I only had eyes for one sorority, and if I had not been accepted or completed the membership process, I would have remained a "private citizen."

Never tell someone else's story. Only tell your own.
I do believe the point of this thread was never "not me...but I know someone...."

Yeah I knew I would get this answer. I was just inspired by some other threads I found while digging, wanted to see if the years have relaxed the rules. LOL

It was suggested to me to wait until grad since I was a senior at the time. One of the main reasons I respected those brothers afterwards.
