AlphaSigLana, what is the other "p" word that disgusts you so much? I thought I knew what you meant, but I can't think of what's so disgusting about it. But then, I like a lot of words that most people dislike a whole lot, so what do I know.

P7A77---I totally do the same thing! I mean, I STILL do! If my right foot itches, and I scratch it, then I have to scratch the other foot anyhow, even if it doesn't itch. Then I have to scratch the other one again, back and forth, until something else comes up. LOL!

I also used to do this thing when I was little where I kept thinking that I couldn't step on the floor because it was made of lave, so I had to hop from carpet to carpet, chair to couch to table, etc. I think I must have been paranoid about this because of playing Mario at a friend's house. No wonder my mom never let me have any video games of my own!!! LOL!!!

Hey...don't knock ya-ya! That is the Greek word for "grandmother," although we spell it differently (yiayia). I will be thrilled to hear my grandchild call me that someday.

This post is preposterous. To paraphrase, the penal population puts poontang above prayer. Which BTW, pokes a picky picker at a plethora of plain purple people. As a pony, I would go to the park with my Mee-mah and Poo-pah. The park, coincidentaly, was placed in the people's republic of pepperoni.

I couldn't resist.

Ya, that's right. P words. It started when I was a freshman in high school. I began to be very conscious of these words. I tended to notice when someone would say them or when I would write them. This brings us to why I chose this subject. Four years later, I cannot stand words that begin with this letter. Ecspecially, when spoken...
Awfully Persnickety, isn't it?

LOL Sorry! Couldn't resist!

LMAO!!!

This is a pretty funny thread!

My boyfriend calls his maternal grandparents mah-maw and pah-paw. It was the first time I had ever heard of that. When he spoke of them for the first time I had to have him repeat it several times b/c I thought it sounded so funny and just couldn't understand where that came from...woo, that was a run on sentence! Anyhow, I don't really like it myself. It sounds strange to me. I refer to both sets of Grandparents as Grandma and Grandpa. To differentiate them I simply add their last name.

As for the OCD thing...
I've never been officially diagnosed but I'd say it's pretty safe to refer to myself as being so. Not so much anymore, but when I was a little girl I was really obsessive about certain things. In the third grade I would change clothes as much as three times a day if I would get even a speck of dirt on me...not normal!

The whole foot thing is familiar too. Srunching of the toes...I can relate, but my kicker was the tying of the shoes. If one lace came undone and had to be tied, I'd tie the other one too. They had to match; equally as tight and bow in place.

Another funny thing I did up until high school was when I turned off the t.v. it would always be on the same channel and at a specific volume, usually volume 15...

Most of these quirks have passed. I'm not nearly as obsessive...still neurotic just less obsessive. Perhaps my OCD kept my neurosis in tact and since I'm not as obsessive anymore I've become more neurotic...LOL!!!

I eat my M&M's by color. I thought that it was my little secret. It turned out my sisters (biological) had been talking about it for years! We all have little idiosyncrasies that make us unique and interesting.
