Hi Rebel Mom and Welcome!!
My daughter is a Theta at Ole Miss and a junior- she unfortunately is not in Oxford this term as she is studying abroad but she absolutely LOVES it!! I will echo every sentiment here by all of the other more knowledgeable people. She MUST go in with an open mind and be willing to accept whatever she gets on her lists throughout the week. ALL of the chapters at Ole Miss are wonderful but rush is VERY tough indeed. She will do fine if she keeps this in mind and will likely get a bid if she is open to the process and willing to see it through till the end.
See your PM's - I sent you one. Best of luck to her and to you- Keep us posted.

I hope everyone has a great 1st day today. Does anyone know the times for each day of recruitment? Good luck to everyone on both sides going through this week. Hotty Toddy!

Wait -- Ole Miss recruitment is happening now?? I ask because I saw a young lady wearing an Ole Miss Delta Gamma t-shirt just this afternoon, here in New Orleans. I guess she must be an alumna.
Rebel Mom, good luck to your daughter. I'm glad to hear she's keeping an open mind.

Not sure what time it started today when PNMs visited all houses, but I believe, starting tomorrow, the partes start at 4 pm until you get to pref round which is Satuday; bids go out Sunday afternoon.

You might be able to find that info on the Ole Miss Greek life website.

NYCMS Wonderful advice, thank you! My daughter went through rush at Ole Miss in 2012. Best advice: accept every invitation and accept a bid even if you're unsure. Every house has members you can connect to.

My fab five are doing so-so to really well. That break on Wednesday is brutal, no one should have to endure that. I get it, take a break, get your work done blah blah. But really. Just rip the band aid off and get on with it. Has the time come to move Ole Miss rush back to the beginning of school? Would girls really still leave en masse? A couple of my five really need the camaraderie of a pledge class to combat homesickness. But we are soldiering on.
The 2 nights formerly known as skit round is underway and there have been harsh cuts, but year 2 of variable quota has helped to manage expectations. The silence is killing me. In a sign of the times, they have not only taken their phones, but taken their Apple watches! But again, we are soldiering on.
Over? Did you say over? Nothing is over until we decide it is! Was it over when the Germans bombed Pearl Harbor? ~John Blutarsky

Good luck!
Keep us posted on how it goes. I think it should be held before school starts. Managing school with long nights and extra rush stress is too brutal. Maybe it is time for a petition.

Truth.
It blows me away when people say "I just do not connect with these girls."
You maybe did not connect with the 3-5 people you met that round but let's be real.
The chapters have almost 350 women.
It is impossible to fail to connect with a small city of humans.

Let's be honest. That's usually code for "I think these girls are beneath me."
