I did not know who he was, but it saddens me to hear of someone taking their own life. My thoughts are with Jonathan's family and friends as they try to come to grips with this.

they have to know that he died, right? if they have can stories on the guy from Fame and other people like that - out of the spotlight for a long time then J.B. should be no different.
If they don't confirm and do something on this, then they are not true journalists, like they all 'claim' to be.
stupid media! but yet they want to talk about j-lo and ashton and britney and all these other people that we are really sick and tired of hearing about..
ohhhh...so frustrated bout that!!!

I've heard too many conflicting things about this--and none from any major news sources--to know whether or not to believe this quite yet. You'd think the LA Times would have it in an obit--even just as a matter of public record.

Maybe this is all just false info?
I was reading about how in the 70's the main character from Leave It to Beaver was supposedly killed in Vietnam. Everyone in America thought he was gone and they were talking about it on news shows.
He's still alive. He did a radio show a few weeks ago and he said that to this day he has to clear up those rumors. He'll tell someone who he is and they'll say, "But, aren't you supposed to be dead?"
Maybe this is the case here?.....
I just find it odd that not even E! has done anything on it. They always report the deaths of actors who many people have never heard of. Many people know of Jonathan Brandis.

I have only seen it in the one article I posted the link to. I'm not seeing anything about suicide in it, though, so I'm trying to figure out where everyone is getting that from.

i just found another article on his death on zap2it.com
http://tv.zap2it.com/tveditorial/tve_main/1,1002,271|84772|1|,00.html
it's calling the death a possible suicide, but they won't know for sure until the autopsy results come in.

I remember having a huge crush on him too. I used to cut out all the pictures of him found in those teen magazines. I still have those clippings. Then I read an article about him dating Tatanya Ali, the girl who played the younger daughter on "Fresh Prince of Bel Air." I also remember him having a minor role in that sitcom "Full House" during his younger days.
