I think they'd be far more let down if this decision had been made right before their installation after the women had invested their time.

Certainly. If the colony wasn't going to succeed, this is the best time to fail. God forbid you pledge a bunch of girls, have them pay dues, buy a bunch of para then pull the rug out afterwards.

Sad to hear about an unsuccessful colonization, and I don't think it's anyone's fault. It's always risky when a new group tries to form on any campus, as I'm sure the majority of women would prefer to join established chapters. While the majority of colonizations do work out, there is always the chance that the women who do express interest may not fulfill what the group was looking for.

It could have gone the other way, too. Perhaps the women driving the higher rush numbers in the last few years weren't interested in Chi Omega.

With this kind of logic, I guess Letitia Fulkerson should have quit her full-time job and spent less time with her volunteer role as National President so she could have spent several weeks tabling in the NKU student center?!

Yes, this idea is indeed sillypants. Also, I don't think she performs her presidential duties in a vacuum - there is a whole national council plus volunteers and alumnae and HQ staff checking things out. Just because she's nearby doesn't mean her thoughts or ideas on this should carry an amount of weight not commensurate with her position.
