Benzgirl, I dunno if they're "THAT" big. Frankly, I've never thought of Johns Hopkins as being a rah-rah pro-sports-in-all-but-name type of school, but that could just be me. The impression I got from the article was that fraternities at Johns Hopkins that had traditionally (or recently) recruited heavily from one or two teams were running into problems. They may have to adjust to seeking new members elsewhere, and I can see how it could be hard to make that adjustment. If lots of members are into one or two particular sports, especially school teams, getting out of that comfort zone may be tough.

Most of the Sororities at Ohio State are holding Informal Recruitment for Spring right now. I think I heard only 2 are not.

I believe there's an error regarding one of the NC schools that no longer has NPC chapters. Winston-Salem State University and Salem College are NOT the same. WSSU is an HBCU. Salem College is a private women's college founded by the Moravians.

I sure do miss irishpipes. She hasn't logged in since January.
We don't have a Fall 2008/Spring 2009 list yet, do we? I wonder who'll be the brave soul who'll take on that responsibility?

Hi OTW and all-
Yes I gave up GC for a long while. I started the Fall 2008/Spring 2009 recruitment list a while back and I think I'll go ahead and find that and update it. I wasn't sure if I'd be back, but I invested a lot in those databases and if I stay away too long it will all be inaccurate again.
Thanks,
IP

Co-sign.
I emailed IP and asked if she wanted assistance filling in some missing dates, etc., as I knew some information for my own university. She said she welcomed additional details to help make the database as accurate as possible.
I know that my GLO has a list of all chapters, with dates open/closed, on our website in the members only section. I have offered to compare that list to some of her missing information.
So... I have Kappa Alpha Theta covered. Anyone else willing to offer assistance with your GLO? As I scan the database, all GLOs are needed, but I have noticed several missing dates with Alpha Phi, Gamma Phi and ZTA, and I am only up to the California chapters so far.
Yay... IP is back!

Just a note: Tri-Sigma at Indiana University Bloomington closed in 1994. (I was there at the time - there was also a big feature in the 1993-1994 yearbook about the chapter closing) I think ASA came to campus in 1989 or 1990. (their first formal rush was 1990-91 per an unofficial IU guidebook I have)
Also, here are the dates of IU's formal rush, per the PHA website:
October 16-17 19 Party
January 3 First Invite
January 4 Second Invite
January 5 Preference Round
January 6 Bid Day
The IU Panhellenic website is at http://www.indiana.edu/~pha
