Do you know if Panhellenic will be lowering total?

To be honest, I have no idea if they will, but they really need to. Quota for the past four years has been 32 ('09), 23 ('10), 26 ('11), and 20 ('12). Numbers like that don't really support a total of 95, especially since quota dropped so much from 2009-2010. A lot of the members that joined in 2009 are now graduating, and it's difficult to build numbers up when a chapter graduates 30+ women, but only gets 20 during recruitment the next year. A total of 95 really is too high, I believe.
I haven't heard about any of the other groups' numbers as far as recruitment is concerned, though, so I'd be interested to see if any of the other groups met or exceeded quota, though.

Our chapter posted a bid day picture on Facebook that appeared to have 20 new members in it. I'll let you know when I get the firm number.
Our Illinois chapter pledged 45.
Our Ball State chapter pledged 42 (Quota was 39)

George Mason Chi Omega: 36 new members (quota +1)
Irishpipes, in case you missed it, I edited my first post to show Alpha Xi Delta at 35! I'll come back if I hear anything from Alpha Phi or Alpha Omicron Pi!

St. Louis University switched this year to a separate freshman/upperclass quota system. Quota was 49+8. The Gamma Tau chapter of Gamma Phi has 60 new members (49+11)!!

But is informal an integral part of the culture at EIU? If only half of all members go through formal then quota this low relative to total might make sense. If nobody is at total and they really have to struggle to get additional members, then yes, it's time to be realistic.

I really wouldn't say that informal is a huge deal here, just because a lot of chapters don't have to do it, and those that do tend to really need the additional members. There aren't that many girls that go through informal, and if one chapter's informal is scheduled later than another chapter's, the PNM pool is usually really small because the earlier chapters have given bids to most of the women who go through. A lot of chapters end informal recruitment under total, without full pledge classes, so I would say that there are chapters that do struggle to get those additional members.
I know that during informal last year, my chapter took 14 women and reached total, although it is a HUGE number for informal. We also had several women graduate halfway through the year, so that's why we had the extra spots open, plus spots left open from recruitment in the fall because quota was so low. A lot of chapters are losing more members than they are recruiting, because recruitment numbers had been absolutely huge a few years ago. I don't know what chapter numbers are currently like with all of the new pledge classes, but it seems like very few chapters are going to be at/around total right now.

Can you please update the Alpha Xi Delta at Illinois number? I was going purely off of counting in the picture--there was apparently one NM missing. We took 53! Thanks!

Honey, can you confirm the Georgia Southern number? I have ADPi with 63 at Southern, which concluded way back on August 17. 63 is much more in line with quota there. I saw the tweet from ADPi EO that said GSU took 32, but I can't figure out which GSU it is if it isn't Georgia Southern.
