Indeed, the answer is B. We moved into the Chi Omega HQ in December of 1993 and the Kappa Deltas had already finished their building. (It's a couple of streets over, but in the same development.)

Truly, all three Headquarters (Chi O, KD & Pike) are beautiful facilities.

Question about the Founding

Prior to the start of Chi Omega, founders Jobelle Holcombe and Jean Vincenheller purchased ribbon & pinned them on their blouses so that the fraternity boys would think they too had a secret organization. The only secret was that they didn't have any secrets!

What were the colors of the ribbons purchased by Jobelle & Jean?

a.) cardinal & straw (ultimately the colors of Chi Omega)
b.) olive & plum (the ugliest colors they could find)
c.) red & white (the school colors of University of Arkansas)
d.) red & green (because it was Christmas time)

Correct answer: D

In 1906, the badge was standardized by a vote of the National Convention to approve only the use of pearls or diamonds. Prior to that time, the size & type of jewel were varied. Our National Archives has several unusual early badges that are spectacular!

* a miniature badge
* Ida Pace Purdue's ruby badge
* an opal badge
* a turquoise badge
* a badge with alternating pearls & diamonds

I'm gonna say it's not Ida Pace Purdue, since NutBrnHair listed her dates of being SH above, and it was when XO was almost 10 years old! There must have been someone before her. It's not Mary Love of course, but I always get confused between Jobelle and Jean. I am gonna go with Jean.
