I have NEVER acted cliquey in any way. To be quite honest I didn't even like Kitso until we worked things out while I was living in Korea. So how exactly could me and Kitso act cliquey when we hated each other? I mean REALLY hated each other??

Me and Monica are close friends who have met and hung out together. We will be friends with or without GC. How does that equal to a clique?

So you guys banded together in defense of US? WTF? Defense of me and Monica arguing about Bush vs. Edwards as sexiest man? Seriously now...we were NEVER mean to you, we NEVER ganged up on you guys. I honestly don't even remember talking to any of you. shrugs.

Last Summer is just that Last Summer. We're talking about current events here folks. I don't know about you, but I've certainly grew up in the past year due to personal events. I don't make it "fun" hurting people's feeling. I feel I'm too old for that.

Anyone here on GC will tell you that I talk to anyone and everyone who contacts me or replies to my posts. I am just not the cliquey kind of gal. I have close friends here(in and outside of GC), but that is limited to less than the number of fingers I have on my hand.

Another thing, I could give a care about "cliques" in general. As long as you're not ganging up on people and starting trouble.

Me and Mon are not ganging up on anyone. If you notice, we write our own separate responses and have totally different writing styles. Also, when making debates...we don't make it personal attacks (not saying anyone does or doesn't). We didn't intend to make this into any sort of pointing fingers event. We merely wanted to bring up the hostility that we've noticed since we got back into GC. Seriously, I've been on here for 2 1/2 years...and I have never ever been upset at all the people who are getting hurt.

And Heather, as I said before....please do not feel this is a personal attack against you. NOne of this actually pertains to you. HOwever, since you are involved with the guilty parties...and you keep responding, it seems you're taking on the responsibility. In my eyes, you have not done anything wrong. The people who have know who they are. You said we were fighting Hootie's battle. Well, its just like that. you're fighting THEIR battle. You don't have to...

Let me set the stage for you. I'm just an Average Jane poster here at GC. I have 700+ posts; I'm not exactly "quiet". Nonetheless, I can't remember a time when I have been controversial or anything like that. As I don't recall ever being mean to anybody, I don't consider myself to be a hypocrite.

As I mentioned before, I don't know what these cliques are about. I have no idea who all is in the Harem, what the letters H&A stand for or what "the way of the cougar" is referencing. What I have seen is certain people (who I will not name) taking the liberty to be intentionally unkind to others. At the same time, others will join in on the mean-spirited commentary and "inside joking" apparently egged on by what definitely appears to me to be a clique.

At least, that's how it looks to Average Jane me.

Sadly, I am now beginning to think poorly of those posters as people. They're people I don't really want to talk to on GC. I just feel like they're not very nice and, if I tried to join in on a conversation, I'd probably get ignored or pushed around because I'm not in their "cool group".

Is it just me who notices this? Clearly not.

I guess these people don't realize how bad they look to others. Maybe they don't care. Normally I would just try and ignore them, but it's kind of hard to when these people are barging in on threads and starting stuff seemingly at random.

I'm not going to call anyone out. I just want people to seriously set their pride aside for a few seconds and actually consider their behaviour in recent times. Have you made a "joke" about someone lately which you knew deep down was meant to mock them in public? Have you intentionally disrupted threads just because you wanted to frustrate someone you don't like? Have you defended your friends' behaviour even though maybe they had crossed the line?

I echo the other people who have posted asking the members of the GC community to be wiser about their postings. We don't have to like everyone on here, but skewering people a la junior high school just isn't cool.

Look, I'm done arguing. I just want all the Bullsh*t to end from EVERYONE regardless of what group/non group you're in/ not in.

Bullsh*t meaning: Snide remarks, ganging up on, back handed insults, and direct personal attacks. Seriously, if we're old enough to type, we're old enough to be civil and have respect for others.

Maybe I'm being uber sensitive, but all of it is totally uncalled for.

Seriously I sound like a broken record. I think some people are totally missing my point on purpose because they want to argue me to death.

From what I've observed via the interaction on this thread, I think the problem is that you're not really saying, "hey, let's all try to be civil and adults". You are saying, "hey, specific members of the H&A, let's all try to be civil and adults" and some people have issues with being connected to spiteful or mean activity in which they have not personally participated. Again, just an observation. I do think that your general message is being heard, loud and clear.

Thanks for your observation... I never intended to call anyone or groups out. In a way, they called themselves out by coming out defensively responding.

The "some people have issues with being connected to spiteful or mean activity in which they have not personally participated" shouldn't worry about what I'm saying because they are innocent. Why respond when you're not guilty?
