Umm... don't mean to torpedo this "plot hole" but indoor plumbing has been around (in the UK) for oh... close to 1900 years now. Think of the Romans and places like Bath or York.

The Romans had indoor plumbing, but it was hardly what we would call a "bathroom" by todays standards...plus all of Hogwarts would be crazy from the lead in the pipes. And not too many castles were built with "plumbing" it was usually reserved for things like bathhouses and the like. Queen Elizabeth was one of the first people in England to have a flushable toliet.

eta: I did a report on indoor plumbing as one the greatest invetions of mankind.

True, but I think some of us are getting of this point. These people were/are wizards. If JKR says it had plumbing, then they did. I dont think the discussion over the issue has anything to do with what will happen next. But thats my opinion.

I read the editorial... but like rainbowbrightcs said, I don't think this "error" will shed any light on how Harry's final showdown with Voldy will go.

I was reading the North Tower editorials on Friday though. More specifically, the one about the Changeling Hypothesis. And the more and more I think about it, the more and more it all kind of makes sense. I don't care if the issue is beyond a child's thought process. I figure that HP became more than a children's book after book 4. I doubt this is what JK has in store for us (the whole 2 in 1 wizard thing) and I'm sure she has something up her sleeve. But the Hypothesis makes you think, "well, what if?"

And I'm happy because AngieJ finished writing Paradise Lost. YAY!

ETA: because I can't spell...

Thumbs up offical website

Heads up-
JK updated her website w/ a new feature- the rubbish bin. there are also new clues for the scrapbook. just thought everyone would like to know.
or maybe i should put it elsewhere cause it doesn't specifically have to do with future events

eta: the 2 legged dog is out again

I think it kind of became the general HP thread... there about 20 HP threads out there but this one seems to be the "it" one.

So if we want to get on topic now... I'm curious what roll Quidditch will have in the next book, and who will be on the team.

I'm curious about the Quidditch too.... I am guessing Harry will be back on the team, but it should be interesting.

I am interested to see how important Fred and George are in the next one, now that they are gone from the school. They are two of my favorite characters.

I could change the title of the thread if we want.

The website has been updated ... new FAQ - including the answer to the FAQ poll.

All I can say about the poll answer is: .... there must be so much more to Harry's Aunt that we don't know yet!

Harry's father was wizard and Harry's mother was a witch born to Muggle parents (similar to Hermione, where she is magic and has non-magic parents), so I guess that makes Harry a "half blood"...sorta kinda...

Right, if one takes "half-blood" as being the opposite of "pure-blood" (like the Malfoys, Weasleys and Blacks).

Another 'Harry Potter' Character to Die

LONDON - "Harry Potter (news - web sites)" author J.K. Rowling (news - web sites) said Friday that one of her characters will not survive the next book in her series about the young wizard.

Asked on her official Web site whether she planned to kill off any more characters, Rowling replied, "Yes, sorry." But she refused to identify that character.

The sixth book in the series, "Harry Potter And The Half-Blood Prince," is due to be published next year.

Potter himself is safe, at least for now. Rowling has previously said her teenage hero will survive until the seventh and final book in the series, but has refused to say whether he will reach adulthood.

I can't help but wonder who it will be. I'm a HUGE fan & was sorely disappointed when Sirius died. I hope it's not a fan favorite but knowing the way she is, it will likely be someone we are fans of.
