Also, I was reading about how people are going to disguise the GLO's that they attend. On a related side note...if you REALLY don't want anyone to know which GLO's they are, don't put the specific activity you did on philanthropy day. Most of the activities will relate to whatever philanthropy that GLO supports, and that can be pretty darn easy to figure out!
Sorry if this was anyones secret way of figuring everyone out! LOL! But, I like to guess!

Noelle -Are you still out there? I know what you mean about small towns-I lived in ELLINWOOD till 5th grade and moved to Great Bend!!! (Nebraska was stuck in there too)
But I LOVE Kansas! Anyway, I think it's WONDERFUL that the ladies are trying to do this! If they get their Panhell Alum Assoc. going, it will create a great atmoshpere all the way around. Sometimes girls from smaller towns really benefit (esp at schools like KU) when they have a rec. It will be a bonus for you and like
GeekyPenguin noted, it will help you stand out.
GOOD LUCK!!!
edited to add- ajuhdg , good reminder!

Thanks y'all! I think guessing is one of the best parts! Anyways, for those of you who can't keep your excitement contained, I've started a new thread (listed below) that is a compilation...with thanks to breathesgelatin...of when and who will be rushing! Let me know of any corrections and additions!
When does the fun begin!

My little sister will be rushing (hopefully!) this January! I'm really excited for her. There is a Pi Phi chapter on her campus and I would LOVE for her to go there (but I don't want her to feel forced...)! This is going to be a big year for me because I'm also recruitment chair at my own chapter! So, I'll be keeping everyone doubly posted!

Good luck everyone!! One thing I love about GC is that many people did not join their org through a picture perfect rush the first time around (not that there is anything wrong with that!!). BUT- Many people have very different stories about how they got where they are. I find this really encouraging, seeing as I myself have a pretty crazy situation as well. I am rushing next month ( for the second time) and am soooo excited (and nervous) I can't wait to hear about your experiences and to share mine!

I'm strongly considering rushing this fall. I'll be a sophmore, but since rush isn't as hardcore in the Northeast, I'm not too concerned. In fact, I don't even know if I'll be pledging. I'm simply very curious - I become easily fascinated with groups and cultures that I'm not a part of, and I'm simply not satisfied with just hearing stories from other people or on here. I'm also hoping to make some new friends, regardless of whether or not I pledge. Basically, I'm hoping to go in with no expectations or agendas, and see what I get out of it!
For the record, I'm at UMass-Amherst. The 8 sororities which participate in formal rush are:
Alpha Chi Omega
Alpha Epsilon Phi
Chi Omega
Delta Zeta
Iota Gamma Upsilon (a local, though maybe I'm wrong about this)
Kappa Kappa Gamma
Sigma Delta Tau
Sigma Kappa
I'm waiting for my info packet from school to arrive, then maybe I'll know more about if I'll be rushing. But hopefully, I'll have a few things to post about come mid-September!

Did you happen to know a Coach Rumble???
scoopage That's a great idea! I wish more people would take the opportunity to discover all the possibilities Greek life has to offer. How can people make judgements if they never take the time to check things out for themselves? Hope you find a place that's perfect for you!

I can hardly contain my excitement! Can you believe that in less than a month, many of our PNM's will have lifelong homes? It's almost too much to take in! The time is ticking WAHOO!!!
For those of you haven't already, send me a PM with your name, school, and rush dates. That way I can put you on the schedule and everyone can find you more easily! Let the games begin!

No Coach Rumble that I can remember, though it's been a while. What sport was it?

I'm working through my threads and PMs now that I'm back, updating this list. After that I'll work through the rush threads and such. Give me time to get it pretty again---SOOOO glad to be back on GC!

If y'all have any corrections, let me know, but I've entered what I could find in the threads. I will be highlighting stuff as people go through rush week in green and then afterwards I will do something fun like highlight in the sorority's colors and write in the group. If a person leaves rush for whatever reason, I'm not sure what I should do. Would just deleting the name be the best thing??
I can't believe our first rush thread starts in 5 days! We have winter rush and as membership chair I'm just starting to think about writing letters to alumnae clubs, etc. While I don't have time to write personal good-luck wishes to all the PNMs, please know that I am thinking about you and wishing you the best. Just reading through your threads after being away for two months makes me realize what awesome women you all are. And of course, my first and final shameless plug (I promise!! No clogging threads for me) for PI BETA PHI!!!!!

If a girl drops out, maybe make their name orange? I can't think of any sororities with orange for their colors!
I'd hate to just exclude them because things didn't work out.
