Would a dress with a cutout in the back be considered appropriate for recruitment? For day two of recruitment at my school, the style suggested are fun dresses, skirts, tops, and accessories and I found a very cute, length-appropriate dress at Target that I would think fit under this category!

Here's how it looks on the model (but I'm 5'2" so it hits above my knees!)

Also, would this dress be considered appropriate for preference night?

I'd like to wear it with coral shoes and accessories, perhaps or just some sort of bright color!

Is it okay to wear off-white/pearl for pref? I bought an off-white dress that I LOVE, and I really want to wear it! I know PNMs traditionally wear black- is that true at all schools?

There are a bunch of cute sundresses on the sale too. Some would be perfect for recruitment.

I think the first one is fine, because the cut-out isn't revealing. Just make sure your bra doesn't show...at all! That's a cute dress!

The fabric on the second one...is it cotton? I can't tell if it's quite dressy enough. It might be better for 3rd round.

Thanks, Sciencewoman! I think I may keep looking around for dresses but keep the first one in mind. Recruitment at my school is only three rounds (open house, values, pref) so I only need two dresses. I plan on trying on the second one soon to see what type of fabric it is but may go ahead and find something else anyway! I like this dress a lot for preference night http://www.windsorstore.com/Black-Nu...Dress/p/167623
but again, I'm not sure it's appropriate... Recruitment's about a month away but I'll keep looking.

Is a dress with a tulle skirt like this too much for pref at Ole Miss?

Sequins are often specifically listed as a no-no. I think it's too fussy and too sparkly/puffy for Pref.

I agree with the last two posts. It looks like a prom dress; especially with the low lace-up back. For Prefs you should wear something that covers you up much more. It is not meant to be a party dress. Think classic, understated and definitely classy.

Oh, I completely agree about this specific dress! I would never do the sequins/ lace up nonsense. I just have a dress with a similar skirt style (the tulle material) , aside from the slightly poofy skirt, it's a classy style dress. I was just wondering if that type of skirt would be considered over-the-top.
