I wonder something...why is Paris in this competition if she has such a famous grandmother?!? You mean the girl can't get herself hooked up with someone with that behind her?
Just a thought...
FYI, if Chicken Little and Bucky don't get the heck out of dodge soon, I may have to stop watching, as they both are KILLING ME!

Who the heck is her grandma? Clearly, I'm missing something...

Paris' grandmother is Ann Nesby, formerly of Sounds of Blackness. The lady can sing, and I'm not necessarily a fan of gospel type music.

Same here...
I'm impressed by how good the final 12 are. Normally I can pick 2 or 3 I really like and I don't care about the rest, but I genuinely like a lot of the remaining people.
I want Miss Pickler and Bucky to be the next to go though.

Can anyone give a good rundown of the performances? I only got to see Mandisa, Bucky and Paris. From what I saw, the girls kicked it up a notch last night. Bucky was horrendous.... I don't know why he gets so many props from Randy and Paula. Seriously, how on earth could they market him as an American Idol?

Ace just isn't cutting it for me anymore. I thought his hair looked greasy last night, even though it was probably just "styled." Also, don't like falsetto singing. Blah.

Can I say I totally called Ace singing "In The Still Of The Night?"
I only got to see the first four performances. (I did tape the rest to watch today!) Chris did "I Walk The Line" and really knocked it out of the park.
Here's what everyone sang (I snagged this from the American Idol LJ community):
Mandisa - "I Don't Hurt Anymore" (Dinah Washington)
Bucky Covington - "Oh Boy" (Buddy Holly)
Paris Bennett - "Fever" (Peggy Lee)
Chris Daughtry - "Walk the Line" (Johnny Cash)
Katharine McPhee - "Come Rain or Come Shine" (Ella Fitzgerald)
Taylor Hicks - "Not Fade Away" (Buddy Holly)
Lisa Tucker - "Why Do Fools Fall in Love" (Frankie Lymon & the Teenagers)
Kevin Covais - "When I Fall In Love" (Nat King Cole)
Elliott Yamin - "Teach Me Tonight" (The DeCastro Sisters)
Kellie Pickler - "Walkin' After Midnight" (Patsy Cline)
Ace Young - "In the Still of the Night" (The Five Satins)

I'd be happy if Ace, Bucky, Kevin or Lisa was kicked off tonight. Everyone else I like.

Yeah, as much as Kellie gets on my nerves, I do agree she gave a good performance last night. Now, if only she wouldn't talk...

I can't believe I'm saying this but I actually liked him last night. Well I liked him more than some of the others. I wouldn't mind him staying and letting them go first.
And heck, I totally didn't even watch Ace. I guess he went last because I just stopped wacthing when I thought it was over. Clearly, he's not my top choice or that wouldn't have happened...

He hasn't been good since 'Father Figure'. I still voted for him a bunch of times last night because AI needs a hot contestant.
