I live around the corner from Sumner. My sister graduated from there in '81 (I think). It is a fine institution of learning with a great deal of history (Arthur Ashe (tennis great), Tina Turner (music icon), Ethel Hedgeman Lyle (AKA founder), all were Sumner Bulldogs.
I chose to go to The 'Velt since they had the BEST choir in the in the Nation. Vocal Jazz, baby! Shout out to Mr. Thedford.

Of course "we" know who they are. However, as this is a message board visited by people from, well, all over the world, (thus the term "world wide web"), I thought I'd take the time to enlighten the few who may not be as up on African American figures as "we" are.

What year did you Graduate from Hallahan? I didnt know any girls from there, I knew girls form Little Flower (Old Girlfriend went there) and Goretti.
