Please if you could keep my grandparents and their neighbors in your thoughts and prayers.

We all live in Ohio but their town is on a creek, but when it rains too much it floods the houses. Back when I was like 8 we had a flood that she had 6 feet of water in her basement. With all these hurricanes, Ohio is getting hit with the after rain and its hitting where my grandparents live. Last week they had 2-3 feet of water in their basement. Wiped out their washer, dryer, dehumidifier, clothes, ect... They are expecting lots more this weekend cause the creek is still very high and its been raining for 2 days now. I am home for the weekend to help my family out. Were praying my grandparents dont get too much water in and going tomorrow to get stuff out of the basement.

They are just getting older and this is really tough for them. I see how it is for older folks in Fla now. My thoughts and prayers are with them too and everyone else affected with all these hurricanes........

Sisters, Please keep my great Aunt Marion in your prayers. She is a sister of the Georga Tech chapter and was initiated in 1936. The reason I ask for these prayers is because i just found out that her apartment in Pensacola has been condeemed due to Ivan. She is safe and I'm sure will be fine. But she is a mature woman in her late 80s early 90s, and could still very much use the prayers of sisters. This is my only family relation to ADPi and we are her only living family left. Thank you sisters.

I have a pre-op on Monday so I'm freaking out how fast everything is going. I thought I would have more time than this but I suppose its better to take care of this now.... :-/
Everyone please remember to pray for HB this week-- she is obviously going to have a tough week and she needs her sisters thoughts and prayers!! We are thinking of you sister-- please let us know how you are once you get a chance!

PS: If anyone talks to her-- let us know how she is doing.

So I just got home from work, and my brother practically tackled me as I walked in the door to stop me from going in any more...
My grandmother had a mole removed on her nose last week, and she found out today that it's cancer. She fought cancer many many years ago, and now she has to do it all over again. She's 80 years old.

Honestly, I don't want to hear reassurance right now. I don't want PMs or replies telling me that everything will be ok. I don't really want a response to this in ANY form right now because I really DON'T want to hear it. I'm sorry if that comes across as witchy, but that's how I get with things like that. I don't want to hear optimism or "I'm here for you," blah blah blah. That's how I deal with things, and I already know who is really there for me.

All I'm asking for is your prayers. Please. And don't even tell me that you're giving them to me... the one who receives them will know, and that's all that matters.

Hi sisters, just thought I'd give you an update. My surgery got pushed up to Tuesday (9/21) due to some scheduling conflicts my surgeon had. Everything went well, I was in the hospital over night on Tuesday and am now home recovering. Turns out the cyst was neither cancerous or endometrosis but just a hemmoraged cyst that was blocking the ovary thus causing the large amounts of pain I would experience. They had to take out 3/4 of my left ovary but I guess 1.25 ovaries is still better than just one and they say I should have no trouble conceiving later on. I have a 10 cm scar on my lower abdominal area (same as a cesarian) which isnt as bad as I thought it would be but the pain was pretty bad the first 24 hrs after surgery. I cant imagine what a cesarian is like, seriously I have a new found respect for all new moms who have to go through that. I can hardly take care of myself much less a new born baby!

Thanks again for all your support and help, I was pretty stressed out last week and my family was just as worried. It's times like this you realize who is really there for you and I'm very grateful for all the support I've received.

L&L

It sure seems that when bad news hits, it stricks hard. Well I have another prayer request. My grandmother, my mom's mom, was just diagnosed with colon cancer and lymphoma. She has less than 6 months to live. That will give her only two months to get to know Case. This breaks my heart. One of my greatest memories of my childhood include my great grandparents. I just lost my dad's parents in the last few years to cancer and I feel like I'm losing them all over again. Please pray for all of us. We have been through so much lately, this is really trying on my family.

Sherra, I will definitely keep you and your family in my prayers (especially your grandma)....I understand how tough it is to lose a great grandparent....I luckily had 23 years with my great-grandma (although we weren't that close), but the way she kept holding on, I thought we might have had a chance for her to meet her great-great-grandchild someday.

Each moment that she has with Case will be special for her, and the pictures you have of them together will be priceless memories for him when he's older.

I have to admit, I can't even begin to imagine knowing my great-grandparents - but that doesn't mean I can't pray for your family, Sherra. May each of you know the Lord's peace that passes all understanding from this moment forward.

Sherra,
I am so sorry. I lost my grandmother (mom's mom) five years ago. She was my favorite person in the whole world and I still can't think about her today without crying. I wish more than anything that she could have been at my wedding and that Bryce could grow up knowing her like I did my great-grandmother. My heart breaks for you. Please know that you and your family are in my thoughts and prayers.

PS - Take tons of pictures of her with Case. He'll want to see them as he gets older and you tell him all about his awesome great-grandmother.

Love,
Ashley
