COB part 2
I just got back from COB..the groups that participated were ZTA, Pi Beta Phi, Sigma Kappa, Lamda Alpha Theta (latino sorority), and Alpha Xi Delta...so we'll see what happens next I guess..some of the girls have already gotten phone calls to join, I've heard nothing yet, I'll see what happens I suppose

Pam,
I know your home is out there somewhere...if it doesn't wind up being as a collegiate, always think about alumnae initiation...I know there are some GCers out here that have gone through AI and could tell you more about it!
Best of luck with the rest of COR!

question
for anyone who has gone through COB/COR...how long should I be waiting for to recieve a bid...after how long should I just be like, its not gonna happen? I know its "continuous" but I'm sure they would have extended a bid by a certain time...how long about? Just to let you know...there were 15 girls that COB'd. I was the only junior and I think there were 2 sophomores...a couple of them already recieved bids, so we'll see I guess. Trying to stay positive here. Talk to you all soon.

Actually, that sounds like amazingly quick uptake on COB bids to me...
Maybe my school works differently than others, but I think there's definately still a chance for a bid!

We usually held 2 or 3 parties or get togethers before we offered a bid.... Good luck!

It really depends on the chapter. We usually have a bunch of parties (like right now we're having 6) and will then extend bids after the two week period. Sometimes we have continuously handed out bids. It really just depends. Just don't count yourself out yet! If you're still interested than keep going back and let them know that!
I wish you the best of luck in whatever you choose.

I went through COB twice - once as a junior and once as a senior.
On the first occassion, I went to the all sorority COB information night and was offered a bid about two hours later.
...on the other hand...
The second time I went through COB I went to two separate events before the sisters started pulling girls aside to tell them if they were getting a bid or not.
Oddly enough, it was the same exact chapter both times! Looking back at my two different experiences, I guess there's no definite rule about how long you should be waiting for a bid. Generally there is a statement on the COB flyer which says that one must attend X number of events to qualify for a bid.

Definitly dont give up. Sometimes people get bids sooner than others but of course you know that doesnt mean you wont get one Have a good time and let me know how it goes. Im wishing you the best of luck girl!

in this case...there is only one party and they contact you via phone, email, whatever....I haven't heard and I'm guessing no bids from here on..all of the girls i talked to have heard something already, so I guess COB is out, I gave it a shot, didn't work out, oh well, i guess you can't always get what you want. Best of luck to everyone else.
