Since the information is no longer provided in any sort of official format....
Our newest Zeta Designation apparently is Pi Beta Zeta at San Diego.
If any other brothers have new colony or expansion news, please feel free to post it here.
Thanks

Zeta-Upsilon is Ready to Re-Launch
Brothers,
Zeta-Upsilon Zeta, with the full support of the University, IHQ, and our Alumni Association will re-launch our Zeta this coming September at the historic Miami University campus in Oxford, Ohio.
We are currently organizing our Alumni Ritual Team and Alumni Advisory Board. Our Chapter House, with much help from LCAP, has had over $500,000 in renovations completed. Our Capital Campaign is approaching $300,000 in pledges and donations at this time.
Our Alumni Association has published a monthly e-newsletter every month for nearly 4 years; we publish a printed newsletter twice a year; we have a Yahoo! chat page; we will shortly launch a new Chapter web page; we have an e-mail list for about 45% of our Alums; we have published a new Chapter History Book; and we have held Alumni Events, on and off campus, on a regular basis for the last 4 years.
We will support our new Zeta. They will know what it means to be a Lambda Chi for life. A Purple, Green, and Gold flag will fly once again on Bishop Street in 2007. Our letters will be proudly displayed on our building as it had been for 54 years.
Are we excited? Yes! Are we a bit worried? Yes! Will we succeed? You bet we will!
Yours in ZAX,
Mike Raymond, President

It just shows that IHQ has made a huge turn in thinking in expansion and rebuilding closed Zetas.
Thanks Mike for the new info. This is exciting!

That is good news! After hearing about all of the chapter closings in recent years it's great to hear about chapters making a comeback.
I pray that I never get news that my chapter has been shut down. It'd be like part of my history dying.

Cube TX, welcome to GC LXA Thread.
I hope no Chapters get closed either, but when they have gone so far that they cannot be saved, it is wise to be shuttered unfortunatly. It really is thier own fault.
IHQ is stretched thin, but are really doing a great job of working with Chapters such as mine. I am sure it will pay off in teh long run for LX Z and all others who try to work with in the Principles.

There is quite a story behind how our chapter was able to make this move. We actually demolished our old house and sold the property for twice the value of our original purpose. Funds for the purhcase and renovation were raised through setting up an investment vehicle which allowed alumni to invest 401K funds into the housing corporation and receive dividends. Another brother (a bank president) secured additional funds for the primary mortgage. If you have an interest in learning more, visit our housing corporation web site at:

Some thoughts on Michigan Tech
1. I like the house
2. I'd like to visit - how does one get to Houghton?
3. But ya gotta lose the pink!

LOL John I wonder if the setting is not correct for the Neighbor Hood?
The House is beautiful to say the least pink or not!
Some of the Actives years back had the Idea to incorporate PGG in house painting!
Well, the green was good, but the color of the out side of the house was more of a baby shit yellow!

Any expansion news from anyone? Are we just expanding to Miami-Ohio and Western Carolina this fall, or are there any other schools?

Greetings, Brothers!
IHQ is limiting its efforts to Miami University and Western Carolina right now.
Aaron Parker is heading the Miami University re-colonization of Zeta-Upsilon Zeta. I joined him Wednesday for a few hours at an information table outside our Student Union. It was a very successful event with about 100 students expressing some interest in our Fraternity. They signed information cards, talked about Lambda Chi, and took our free ink pins!
Our major launch will take place on September 17th when the full IHQ team begins an intensive three week campagin to rush upperclassmen.
We plan on having our first AM Ceremony on October 9th and our first Intitiation on December 1st.
Right now our Alumni Advisory Board (AAB) is undergoing training (second session 9/23/06); we have a Faculty Advisor; an assistant High Pi; and just about three full Alumni Degree teams ready to practice starting late next week or so. Our intent is to have an all-alumni Ritual Team!
We do need a High Pi. Any takers in the Southwest region of Ohio?
We will "take Back" our Chapter House in late May after it being leased to STG for three years. It was renovated, through a team effort between our Alumni Association and LCAP, at the cost of $525,000 two years ago. It is pretty nice, but more will be done.
We are going "substance free" and looking for a lot of good men!
Anyway, its late and that is what I know right now....

Mike Raymond
