Although I'm sure they'll pick up one or two players before next year, I honestly think they're pretty well covered. They signed 21-year-old Henrik Zetterberg (left winger) to a three year contract in mid-May and we have a lot of good guys trying to crack the line up/stay in the line up (Jason Williams, Jesse Wallin, Sean Avery, Jiri Sleger). Forward Slava Kozlov is a free agent in Buffalo...it'd be nice to see him back. I'd like to see them pick up another aggresive, but speedy, defenseman...maybe someone in their late 20s or early 30s...experienced, but with plenty of years left.

Hockey needs a salary cap also. Otherwise the league will go the same way as baseball has.

OMG! I was sooooo tired last nite, but I made it. Five hours sitting on my booty, all alone, watching Game 3 of the Finals. I thought this game was never, ever gona end!!! I think if I hear the name Irbe or Francis one more time, I may just scream. Anyways, this game was awesome, and the Canes are a damn good team. But does anyone realize that they hit pretty hard? I don't really know the whole rules of checking and all that, but does Aaron Ward have something really bad against his former teammates? Out of all the players, he was hittin and fightin the most. Crazy. And Irbe...did anyone else find it hilarious when he dragged I think Chelios or Yzerman (can't remember cuz it was so late) out of his net? The Canes are givin the Wings a run for their money, but I think my boys will prevail. I am a bandwagon fan, and I promise next year I'll be a better fan. GO WINGS!!!!!!! Lord Stanley cometh home...

Yes, it was an extremely long game...third longest in playoff history and and only four seconds short of being the longest overall. Sidenote: Dandenault was the one being dragged from the net.

So far, great series and good for hockey in general. Obviously you all know who I'm rooting for! Carolina's fighting hard, but I believe we'll come through in the end.

What a game last night - triple overtime - man people on the east coast must have tired - in the end I would like to see Detroit win the series (it would be cool as a Vanc. fan to say that even though we got ousted in the 1st round at least the last 2 years we got ousted by the Stanley Cup champions) but at the same time the Canes to me are the Whalers with a few old school Canucks in there (Urbe, Gelinas, Heddican and a couple of more but a few glasses of wine have caused me to forget who exactly...) in the end though I still wish a Canadian team was in there, but I still would have had mixed feelings about TO....

Thumbs up

Congratulations to both the Red Wings and Hurricanes on an amazing playoff run!

Last night was great! Watching it as a loyal fan was so amazing that I can't even imagine how the players themselves felt. I did feel that the victory was slightly overshadowed by Scotty's retirement. I wish he had waited til the Parade or something.

Welcome Home to Hockeytown, Stanley!
