Its a new McCain camp add against Obama. The add would make sense IF and only IF Raines was Obama's advisor. He was not. The actual Fannie Mae guy who worked with Obama was white. The add is racist, bump what some people want to say in defense of it.

In a video posted on YouTube, the Dallas forward is shown at Allen Iverson's charity flag footballgame in July. When the national anthem is being sung, Howard says, " 'The Star-Spangled Banner' is going on. I don't celebrate this [s***]. I'm black."
It didn't take long for Obama enemy number one, Rush Limbaugh, to jump in and use it as fodder on his radio show yesterday, according to Eurweb.com.
"You heard it, Obama '08. So here's an Obama supporter, another one, in addition to Reverend Jeremiah Wright saying God bleep America," Limbaugh told his audience. "This man has become wealthy in this country, Josh Howard has. And, by the way, it's not just black athletes. There are certain black singers who are refusing to sing the national anthem at black events. They're singing the [black] national anthem, whatever that is."

All these so called "Patriots" and "real Americans" who are running around talking about how great America is because Howard can even make the comment and how soldiers are dying so he can say what he wants are getting on my dayum nerves.
If I have freedom of speech let me use it. Do not try to crucify me when I say that I could care less about the Star Spangled Banner and that I happily stand and sing along to the Negro National Anthem ("whatever that is") with my fist in the air. And don't get mad because I do not say or respect your pledge. I am American and as such I have a right to NOT say or do whatever I want.
And please don't get it twisted soldiers are not dying so that I have freedom of speech. They are dying because we have a government that is run by an idiot who believes it is his destiny to control the world.

And one more thing...Why is what some random athlete says all of a sudden political news?

I was reading your post and it just struck me as odd that some will try to judge whether others are patriotic. What is the true test of whether someone is patriotic?

For example, if my ancestors built much of this country using nothing but their bare backs, strength and grit, and they did it for FREE; if my ancestors got eaten up by dogs, hosed with water, etc. to promote the ideals that are embodied in the rights in the constitution in AMERICA, am I not patriotic if I criticize the country. Do I not have the right? Ok, tell you what, just give me the money that's owed to my ancestors for all that free labor that made some of the majority population in this country wealthy (or at least gave them land and a start in life) and we'll call it even. How about that? Oh, and can I get the money with interest?

I'd better not hear one person call someone unpatriotic around me. The main ones calling someone unpatriotic are NOT the ones who built this country with their backs, had their families ripped apart for its southern economy, and did all that FOR FREE.

Now THAT'S patriotic!

Is it on Youtube? I've found that to be a very good source for whatever I miss on TV. Usually, the taped version is on You Tube.

I was talking to a coworker (who supports McCain, BTW) and I had to break it down to him that they hung the cutout from a noose and that's really upsetting because of the past, etc. I probably shouldn't have mentioned it. at me.

I think something will go wrong with Trigger (the baby with DS) or some other great family emergency so that she can pull out of the debate. I mean if she can't take on Katie Couric then she has no chance at Joe Biden. I'm thinking that she must be playing dumb so that voters will have low expectations of her and when she debates and seems to know a little bit people will be impressed. I think this will work for decided Republican voters, but for everyone else...not so much.


I know the pundits are all split as to who won the debate, but am I the only one who heard John McBush say:

"By the way, North Korea, most repressive and brutal regime probably on Earth. The average South Korean is three inches taller than the average North Korean, a huge gulag."


After talking to different people to try to understand this comment I am assuming that what he meant by the height difference is that the more developed the nation is and the better off the people are the taller they are on average and S.Koreans are 3 inches taller than N.Koreans so N.Korea is therefore greatly oppressive. This is a huge streach for me. Considering the fact that the question was: "Senator McCain, what is your reading on the threat of Iran right now to the security of the United States?" this really made NO sense.
