I'm busted! Yikes, okay -- that will teach me to ask questions without double-checking!
I believe what happened was that in 1978, National organized the charitable scholarships (like the MLC for graduate study, etc.) into a group...that was actually the forerunner of the "Foundation."

Nor have I! I also should point out, just now as I was trying to find another question to ask (to give NutBrn a break!) I saw this on the timeline on the website:

See, you DO know what you are talking about. The questions needed the word 'established' or 'founded' to make it not a trick question!
