Not to double post but I felt I had to say this.
Just finished listening to Battle Studies, John Mayer's new a;bum. It is such crap. To be fair the lyrics seem fairly deep, but the instrument work is so bad. He even managed to f up crossroads.

I've heard a few people say it's his best work since Heavier Things, so I was going to pick it up. Guess I'll have to rethink that now.

I would suggest Youtubeing the two singles he released and checking them out. It is a return to his earlier work,which is why some people might have liked it. But Continuum was honestly one of my favorite albums of all time, so that can be it.

I saw some of Carrie Underwood's special last night, and all I can say is that Kristin Chenoweth stole the show (well, the parts of it I saw, anyway). Whatever "it" is, Kristin's got it. From Wicked to Pushing Daisies to less-than-stellar AI alum primetime specials, her performances are fantastic. I've been a fan for a while, but last night totally sealed the deal. I would've stopped watching the show much sooner than I did had Kristin not taken the stage.
