Maybe HSN can be my next fake GLO. My roomies at the sorority house and I used to watch QVC and make fun of it late at night - some of the stuff they have on then is insane.

It's good you didn't mention orgs, because you never know who from your school could be posting on here...you might at first think that AB is awesome and QVC sucks, but after first rounds, you might feel totally different. (I used made up letters so nobody would be offended.) You might want to go look through older threads in this forum and the "Important" sticky threads at the top.
I definately agree! There have some rush stories that the PNM says something like "I know I don't want to be in House #9 because [insert reasons here], and then go through rush, and get a bid to House #9, and end up completely loving it... so keep all your options open! You never know how things will turn out!

Also wanted to post that it is SO awesome there will be so many pnm's here on GC in the fall! I hope everyone will share their experiences with us, so we can all cheer you on during the process!!!

That's totally understandable - and a much better wording! Good luck with recruitment (which should be called rush )!

I just found out that my husband's cousin is rushing at UGa. I want her for Pi Phi! She ought to have an easy time of it...she was named "Most Beautiful" at her huge Mississippi high school and has top grades and activities and her dad's a doctor in Jackson so I bet she already has a ton of recs. However--we all know what UGa rush is like. I told her Phi Mu (Ole Miss) aunt not to count on anything at Georgia; this girl is precious and I'll die if she's hurt.

Are you going to hear enough about it to tell us her rush story? I am intrigued by southern rush.

Carnation, I'd love to hear her rush story also. I am looking forward to all the PNMs' stories already. It's funny being so excited - like I was going through myself.

I'm just sitting around till fall, waiting for THE CALL to come in.

I'll find a way to tell it! I've heard so many cut-throat rush stories from Athens these last 3 years that I hope it'll be a happy one. My husband just told me that in addition to the looks and activities, she has a 1450 on her SAT. Sounds great, right? But a girl from here rushed last fall and she was a National Merit Scholar, salutatorian, had super activities, and is incredibly gorgeous and sweet. Just like any other rushee, she was heavily cut. I asked one active what the heck they were thinking cutting a girl like that and she told me that most of the girls rushing at Georgia have those same qualities.

It's really hard to get into UGa as an in-stater--we know of people with 3.5s who didn't get in.

I am getting more excited about rush (Oh, sorry - recruitment) every day. I keep meeting such awesome people already, and I can't wait.
My best friend is more excited than I am! He keeps saying, "Hey! So and so is an ABC and what's her name is DEF, and that girl over there is a GH... come one! I'll introduce you!" I'm like, DOWN BOY!!! You should have seen his face when I told him I had to make my hair and manicure appointment. He said, "What do you mean, have to? Is it required? That's crazy! If someone had told me I had to get a haircut to rush, I wouldn't be a Pi Kapp!" I explained that it wasn't required that I just wanted to look and feel my best, and he said, "Girls are wierd."

Ahhh boys....

I actually went to Fairless High. I lived in Brewster for most of my high school years and my mom just moved us all to Canton South. But, I graduated high school almost 3 years ago, so it hasn't affected me much.

Oh ok! I went to Jackson. I've lived in Canton all 22 years of my life so I never had to do the whole moving thing. I bet its easier when you don't have to restart at a new school and everything.
