Spent the first 18 years of my life in Cook County, Illinois

Then moved to St. Louis County, Missouri for school\

Then moved to Suffolk County, Massachusetts to do Americorps.

Now I'm back in school in St. Louis County, Missouri although I live in St. Louis City, Missouri (the City of St. Louis is its own county in Missouri...Baltimore City is the only other city in the country that's its own county without incoporating suburbs)

Went to school in Clark County and Faulkner County, AR
Lived in Pulaski County, AR after I got married.

Now I live in the City of Lynchburg, VA. In VA, there are some places (I don't know how they get this distinction...size, maybe?) that are cities, but they aren't IN a county. So when you enter the city limits, you are technically not in a county. So I really don't live in a county right now....however last year I lived in Campbell County, VA and could stand outside my apartment and throw a ball over the boundary line between Campbell Co and Lynchburg City.

And I thought Arkansas was weird....

I didn't move that much and most likely for law school I will still be in the Los Angeles country.

Just doesn't make sense. Is any other state (Commonwealth) like this?

I grew up in Waukesha County, WI.

I went to college in Grant County, WI for two years. The college I graduated from is in Milwaukee County, WI.

Now I live in Hennepin County in MN.

Grew up in Hartford County (CT), went to school in Suffolk County (MA), work in Suffolk County, but live in Norfolk County (on the Suffolk County line)
