Can't live without:
-Kate Spade bag! (of course)
- broken in jeans to lay around in, and jeans to go out in
-push up bras from Victoria's Secret (because I just wasn't blessed at birth)
-black boots
-pea coat for winter
-gray tennis shoes
-Bid Day shirt
-hat with your letters on it for the bad hair days
-Stila Lip Glaze-not sticky, very shiny..my new addiction!!
-straightening iron
-T-shirt sheets
-best friends who stand by you in good times and bad
-boyfriend who treats you well
-disposable cameras-you can drop them and it's ok!
-a pearl necklace, and pearl earrings (so classy)
-anything from AE, Abercrombie
I know there's more, but I can't think of them all...

AlphaSigLana....I absolutely love that magazine INStyle. I read it too....on styles in your twenties.
Hey ya'll another question....I am search before i go back to school for the perfect pair of jeans and all i can find is those low-rider jeans, but the problem is they don't fit me right. Abercronbie was my fave brand befor and now all they have is low riders...any suggestions on the perfect pair of jeans. !!!!!

Well. *This* thread has certainly enlightened me to a few things. (How certain students can combine intelligence with fashion sensibilities, for example -- but that's a conversation for another day.)
I'd heard a lot of stereotypes about sorority women and Steve Madden shoes. This turns out to be a misnomer? Curious.
More broadly about stereotypes: many of you have posted about how it looks (anti-Greek bias, for shorthand) to post about such shallow things. The fact that there's even that amount of self-reflection helps wipe away much of the bias. Or should.
Keep up the good work.
Best,
DS (yes, a r/t prof)

I loved this list 'cause it made me laugh. I have a few of the things but by no means all of them. I must also add that although the clothes and jewelry are the main must haves, so behind the scenes must haves were left off so here they are:
-a good pair of tweezers (where would our brows be without them!)
-a box of hair dye (come on how many of us are sporting our true colors?)
-vitamins (who eats healthy in college?)
-a good diet (to fit into that awesome borrowed formal or to just plain catch someones eye)
-an aerobics video for those days when you just can't make it to the gym
-a triple A card for little emergencies on road trips
-instant messenger (to keep in touch with faraway friends!)
And last: a complete up to date e-mail/phone list of all your sistas!!

Steve Madden shoes are the best. I just bought 2 pairs the other day on sale which was awesome. I also enjoy candies shoes. I am a frequent shoe shopper at DSW shoe warehouse when I am not at Steve Madden.
I am trying to buy more clothes that are stylish.
Apparently Express changed their style of jeans. Is is wrong of me to wear my Express jeans I bought in the winter/spring? They don't have any holes and they are flares and Express still carries flares. One of my sorority sisters made a comment saying that my jeans must be old since Express changed their style. I was so embarressed. But i don't want to throwaway a good pair of jeans!

That was a pretty rude thing to say! If you like the jeans and they still fit you, wear 'em! Its not like you showed up in tight-rolled stonewashed zipper jeans (no offense to anyone who wears those still )
You could have replied "I guess you found out that express changed styles when you went shopping for new jeans because you outgrew all your others, huh?"
I'm mean, I know...

I think the #1 sorority girl necessity is a CAMERA...that way you will always remember the "best years of your life".

Amen to that. Our fraternity brothers and significant others don't call us the "paparazzi" for nothing. I must've spent hundreds of dollars on film developing since I joined AGD.

Dont worry about wearing a pair of season old jeans!! Theres no use in buying a pair of 40 some dollar jeans if your just gonna throw them away. If they look good on ya, then im sure your sisters and you shouldnt care whether they were made yesterday, or six years ago. Its the fit that counts
