Actually the dates would have fallen over rosh hashanah (sp?) so rather than have it so late they decided to have it earlier. I'm glad because I don't want to be going that late into September!

See, this is what I don't understand. One third of Pitt is Jewish, one third is Roman Catholic, and the rest are "Other". When I saw the first schedule, I was talking to an Advisor whose husband is Jewish, and I said, "Isn't that High Holy Days?" and she confirmed it. Now, if this lil ole Baptist can figure that out in less than 5 minutes, how did the original schedule get approved AND on the website over a few months?
Yes, I prefer the earlier dates, too, except for Pref on my birthday!

which website are you talking about? if it was the panhel one the dates haven't been updated since 2001.
Anyway I agree with you but it happens. Their VP of recruitment had to resign halfway through the semester because she had mono so the president had to work on this stuff.

The Fall 2004 Recruitment tentative schedule is as follows*:

Sorority social- This will be a chance for women going through recruitment to meet a few members from each of the sororities, including the chapter presidents and recruitment chairs.
Friday, Sept. 10, 2004
Day one parties- The first day of recruitment is to introduce potential new members to Greek life in general. Recruitment partipants will attend a party given by each of the five PHC sororities.
Saturday, Sept. 11, 2004
Day two parties- By mutual selection between recruitment participants and the sororities, this day is to introduce potential new members to each sorority's individual characteristics, as well as their local and national philanthropies.
Sunday, Sept. 12, 2004
Preference parties- This day of recruitment is very special in that it allows the potential new members to see a more serious side of sorority that will help them decide which sorority is right for them.

It was on the Pitt site. Granted, I was shocked to see it on the Pitt site to begin with, but having the right dates would have been even more amazing!
SO... that gives me a little more than two months to talk the actives out of serving cheesecake yet again for Pref!!
