Well, I keep hearing everything happens for a reason, and I think I found one. My father had surgery today, (he's fine), but I really needed to be home. This whole week has been marked with accidents, sick people, injuries, etc, but I honestly can't say it's been a bad week because each time things have been ok. I was able to be home with my family tonight (although I definitely would've loved to be at Bid Day with a new home), which in the scheme of things is much more important.

Goodness, Crystal, you have had a Romans 8:28 week, haven't you? I said a quick prayer for your dad when I read this, and I hope he comes through perfectly.
I so admire your desire to be on the Missions field! My brother & his wife do short term missions, and they say the rewards are heavenly! And the abused women program sounds like a winner, too!
Bless you for being so upbeat when all of us are genuinely aching that you didn't get a bid - yet! I still have hopes that you can COB or seek AI in the future. I would be so proud to call you my sister!

I've heard rumors that Ireland, Germany (YAY!, Italy, Spain (YAY!), and Greece are holding COB events. For reasons that I don't feel comfortable sharing, although I've been invited, I will not be attending Greece.
These are just RUMORS, meaning I haven't heard from Greek Life whether they actually are. I emailed them today, and hope to hear back in the next few days. I only know the one group for sure. I'm going to go to the rest if they are indeed holding events, even the ones I wasn't sure about. (Especially since I found out that my AWESOME rho sigma and her sister are in one of those!)

AWESOME! It's so great that they are having these events this year! Hopefully you will be able to attend some!
I must say that GC has really made me appreciate the importance of COB for both chapters and PNMs--I wish we could expand COB/informal rush substantially!

I just read through your experience and I wanted to say that I hope you find some COR opportunities and the chance to get to know the organizations on a more informal level. I know that it's tough to get in as an upperclassman (I went through a similar situation), and honestly, COR can be the greatest experience of a PNM Also, there's the chance that the organizations that you weren't too impressed with in formal recruitment may be the ones you really like when you get to see them in an informal circumstance (that's how my chapter is with recruitment ~ more relaxed and "ourselves" when it's not in a structured week of parties! ) As everyone's been saying, keep your chin up, and any organization would be lucky (and should be proud) to call you their sister!

No COB for France. But I think it's kind of like a first crush - they were the group that I loved to death, and although it didn't work out, I'll always have a soft spot for them!
My fortune cookie said last week: "Good things will come to you in due time." Keep your fingers crossed - it's not over yet!
I just found out that the rumors weren't true. One chapter will be holding COB events, and I'm not telling which one, just that I'll be going later this week!
All you MTSU people that know who it is, don't spoil it!

Good luck Crystal. Hope you have a lot of fun at the mystery COB event.

I know who she is going to. I know who she is going to.
Crystal, I am sending wonderful vibes your way. I really hope it works out for you. Also, I believe that you are already going to have a few friends there, so the match would be most excellent.
Wishing you the best luck in the world. I know that you will find your home sweet home.
