^Thanks for the update! I will be letting my bridesmaids do the same thing; I love the look of coordinated, but not matchy matchy bridesmaids. Will their dresses be in that color as well?

My bridesmaids will be wearing this dress:
I thought I'd go for something less matchy-matchy, but I came to love this dress. And it looks good on all of my bridesmaids (that have sent me pictures, anyway).

I am thrilled to be one of my best friend's maid of honour, but I'm a little bummed that we're doing floor length black gowns. I do have formal events that I need full length gowns for, but nothing that I can wear something that's plain and black to. And because I'm so short, I'm going to be paying just slightly less than the cost of the dress in alterations. However, it IS her wedding, so I will be fine as long as she is happy in the end!

It may be an awful idea, but I allowed my ladies to go to J.Crew and pick any silk chiffon bridesmaid dress in either bright coral or dark eggplant. Originally, I asked which colors they wanted to wear, and it was a pretty even split between the two colors (so three ladies will be in one color and two in the other). I figured that in doing that, they got to choose a color that flatters their skin tone and a silhouette that works for their shape. We'll see if it comes out okay in the pics, but I don't really care since the bridesmaids will be happy.
Groomsmen were told grey suits. Groom is wearing charcoal, but we didn't want to stress anyone out financially, so any grey will do. They will probably have matching ties, which we will purchase for them.

My bridesmaids are wearing navy saris with gold polka dots and different borders and my MOH is wearing a cream/beige sari with the same gold polka dots and a different border.
As of right now the groomsmen will be wearing navy suits and pink bow ties and the groom will be wearing the same navy suit and a pink and navy blue patterned tie.
I'll post pictures of the saris when they come in.
