Sigh. I knew it would happen sooner or later, but I received a Snuggie as a Christmas gift. Leopard print.

Andy and I received slankets, which is the snuggie knock-off. All I could think of was this thread.

No, no, no...
The Snuggie is actually teh SLANKET knock-off!!
And I got 2 knock-off Snuggies for Christmas. I'm wearing the one my dad got me backwards...(yes, I know, I'm wearing my "blanket with sleeves" as a robe...lol) and it's soft and cozy. The other one (given to me by my in-laws) is scratchy and was put right back in the box to be regifted!

That's what I thought. I have a Slanket and I love it. It's so much thicker and softer than the Snuggie. I got one for my husband and sister for Christmas. They're ugly as all hell, but so warm.

I feel as though the Slanket is choking me. I can't wear it because there is way too much material near the neck and it's really heavy-even if I let it lay flat. I'm going to ask a friend to chop about a foot off the top so that I can try and wear it.

That doesn't even look warm and your hands will get cold. If only there was a better way!

You could also take like a king size flat sheet, stitch it along one side and the bottom and voila, same thing.

I've been secretly wanting a Snuggie for awhile.
Picture this: Christmas Eve. Boyfriend's extended family (plus me and the "outlaws," as they've coined themselves) sits down to dinner. We're in DC area, which had just been hit by that storm. It was COLD, but everyone's dressed pretty nicely. Hostess enters and sits at the head of the table, IN A SNUGGIE. Instead of leading us in grace, she tells us to take a peek under our chairs, Oprah-style. SNUGGIES FOR EVERYONE! It was a cute party favor, actually, since she had a huge age range to deal with. Plus 30+ people at a super-long table, all clad in Snuggies was a pretty surreal sight.

What a cute story! You should send it to the Snuggie people. Maybe they'll feature it on their site.

Y'all can do what you want but I will hunt down any Delta Chi that purchases, owns, or contemplates a lettered snuggie. And that is a promise.

It's ugly and I don't foresee NHQ "licensing" them for various reasons.

I wear letters so I can show my pride outside of the house. I don't really see the need to own what is essentially a blanket with my letters on them, and I love my letters on everything!
