You're kidding, right? The Mets have a huge lead, and the Yankees trotted out Nick Green and Andy Canizarro today. Not to mention that they've been using Kevin Thompson and Andy Phillips regularly. Don't be one of those fans that makes too much out of a handful of games, even if they're against the Red Sox.

Fixed your post.

O, I know...it would just be nice to see both teams clinch

Trust me, nobody is more disappointed than me that the Mets just got swept by the 2nd worst team in the NL... but they are WAY ahead of the rest of NL, and the Mets and Yankees are tied for the best record in baseball. They will both win their respective divisions.

New York Mets: NL East champions, for the first time since 1988.

Ouch... a broken femur. That is the worst bone you can break. I hope he's ok.

Nick Johnson is a notoriously injury-prone dude - it sucks, as he'd be a pretty solid 1B if he could play 140 games per year . . . it's not 'chronic', either, it's just been, well, bad luck.

Sad, but true. He is a good player, just has had way to much bad luck....

Seriously, that NEVER happens.

Hope he recovers from this one - it was a shame, because he'd been relatively injury-free this year. At least it happened at the end of the season, and he'll have the off-season to rehab.

I remember when he was the Yankees 1st baseman of the future; it seems like a long time ago.
