i am thinking about taking the bus and rail to work starting next month. the monthly pass is only $40. my cousin says she can get it for me for $20 because they have discounts at her work.

Houston TX: Lowest - $2.59, Highest - $3.14

I always hated the higher cost of living on campus but the fact that my truck gets to sit for five days while I do nothing but walk to class, helps keep my gas costs low. I figure I only fill up every other week.

So, everyone has an Idea of how to save Gas.

Do You save Gas?

I drive a Honda made in Maryville Oh.

I drive 4.5 Miles a day.

When I have to buy products, I go to the nearest place, all of them and get it at the best price.

Round Trip @ 6 Mi.

Amy that's crazy!

$2.89 is average around my house, but there's one Marathon very near my house that was 2.78 today. They are ALWAYS way lower than any other gas station in the area, and they probably make tons more money than those because they are constantly packed. People are crazy there so I go elsewhere.

In the city it's already well over $3/gallon for regular. It's around $2.90-2.95 here in suburbia.

Did anyone else hear about the CEO of Exxon retiring with like $800 million or some outrageous thing like that. I think that was combo of cash, benefits, and stock options but still.

That doesnt suprise me since my friends who work for both Halliburton and Shell thank me all the time for adding money to their retirement fund every time I pump gas. According to them, they have never had a supply shortage even after Katrina and such.

Yeah, my dad who is in oil and gas is pretty happy right now. Especially after the record setting price of oil last Friday at 74$ per barrell.

And actually, the oil and gas industry really was not affected hardly at all by Katrina. I had a bunch of statistics that showed the damage and it was very minimal.

$33 to fill up my tiny little Acura RSX.

When i'm going to the office, I drive 2 miles to the park 'n ride and take the bus in. So that's great.

However, this week and next, i'm on the road 4 days out of 5.

Blah.

IRS, please raise mileage back to at least the 48.5 cents/mile it was right after Katrina. (currently it's at 44.5 cents/mile)

I am so glad I didn't buy an SUV. Especially in Pittsburgh, with all the hills and windy roads.
