I CAN imagine how you feel since I've been there! Keep things in perspective. You know that this is just one bump in the road. Many opportunites are sure to come your way.

Good words to remember, Crystal!! It's just a darn shame that MTSU doesn't have "free" juniors...

Dear Crystal, I will be direct -- Life just sucks sometimes. And this is one of those times. I am so sorry about what happened. You know I wish I had a magic wand I could wave and make everything better for you....I am alternating between anger and sadness right now, so I can't offer really good advice....everyone else here on GC has given you some good advice though so I will just ditto what they have said -- keep your head held high!
Big hugssss

I've been reading yall's posts throughout the day, and I appreciate all the encouragement and kind words. I'm much better now - I went to an activity sponsored by the campus ministry that I'm involved in and got to meet a lot of new freshmen and transfer students, and will be helping out with the freshmen activities there. I would love it if a snap bid were to come my way, and I'm crossing my fingers for the next 48 hours just in case, and I'll COB if the opportunity arises (I can't see not being in the mood after I've enjoyed this week so much). Yall's posts have really been touching, and have lifted my spirits considerably!

I just read through the entire thread and all I have to say is you are amazing to take everything with such grace. I will also be a junior rushing this fall and we'll see how it goes...I will definately think of you and your determination to not let it get under my skin. Good Luck this year!

Well, I'm getting to head home to my parents' house to do laundry, but I thought I would update everyone on what and how I'm doing.
I'm doing well, I haven't been upset tonday, and I'm excited to find out where the other girls in my group end up. Keep your fingers crossed over the next couple of days for COB or snap bids!
I just applied for a missions trip over fall break to inner-city New York to lead a fall festival. They're only picking 10 students across Tennessee for this trip. Keep your fingers crossed and the prayers coming!
I'm going to try and start a new campus org, hopefully sponsored by the Victim's Rights Group in Nashville, which does fundraisers and benefits for things like child abuse prevention, domestic violence, etc. What I would like to do is hold a fund raiser on campus for the dosmestic violence shelter in my county, and I'm thinking that there are a few artists I could get to come out and help. I'm gathering all the information I need right now and brainstorming.
That's about it!

BIIIIG hugs, sweetie! I'm not sure if anyone has mentioned this, but have you considered the possibility of a service fraternity/sorority? You sound like you're very service oriented girl. APO's Alpha Alpha Omega chapter used to be at MTSU, but they've since gone inactive, and I don't think Gamma Sigma Sigma ever had a chapter there. I don't know much about BSP, but I believe they are noncollegiate. I know you're a junior so you might not want to start something new (the APO rechartering process can take a LONG time), but there are resources out there.
Good luck with the missions project! It sounds like a lot of fun! I'm praying for you!

Hey - great idea with this!! If you need more help brainstorming, or need volunteers to help, then I would definitely contact the Alpha Chi chapter and let them know what you need. Since our national philanthropy is helping victims of domestic violence, they would most certainly have literature for you to use (such as statistics and booklets). I mean I know you'd want this to be your own thing, and that is great - but if you can get things that are already done (like the info) then that would really help you out too! No need to re-invent the wheel, right?
And we are keeping our fingers crossed for you on the missions trip - all my best always!!!

I'm so sorry that you were cut I think that they don't know what they are missing out on! You're an awesome girl and would be an awesome addition to any house out there. I'm glad to see you so pumped about starting a new campus organization and getting involved in other ways though!
