About 5-10 of my sisters have "sisterhood" in a chinese symbol thing. It is very cute. They have on their foot, or back, or other places.
If I were to get a tat, it would either be a violet, lion or dolphin on either the right or left side of my lower back. right where waistband of jeans sit.

I am thinking somewhere closer to my toes, like right above where the strap of my flip flop hits. And it will be small enough that it can be covered with a band-aid if necessary. I can't wait!!! Whooo!!

I finally went and got my tattoo reworked!!!
When I graduated from high school, I got a celtic symbol on my hip. Unfortunately, the tattoo artist was not good, and I have had a slightly mottled purple and black blob on my hip. Yeah, it sucked, and I never cared.....but now I have a fiance
My new tattoo man took one look at it and was filled with inspiration. (I had no preferences, I just wanted it to look cool) He did this awesome abstract design in purples, blues, yellows, & greens. It looks soooooooo good! (Or it will once it is done shedding! LOL)
Next paycheck...I'm getting another one.
And I will have pics.

I am pretty sure I am going to get a thin one around my left wrist. When it's not "appropriate" for it to be seen, I can wear a watch or bracelet to cover it.

KillarneyRose, that is an awesome idea! I've been thinking about getting a little one on the inside of my wrist -- I've seen a few like that, and I always think it looks really cool.
Oh man, I am so going to end up with like 5 tattoos. Or more, LOL.

I'm thinking about another one... they're so addictive!
My parents still haven't seen mine. Had to cover it up with makeup last week at a wedding where I was wearing a short dress. Yeah, I know I'm a wuss not wanting to show them, but they don't know about my nose piercing, either. I'm thinking that I'll tell them after I'm financially independent.

Congratulations on the new tats ladies! It's not too bad is it?! I need to go get mine touched up. I would love to get another but I'd have to really think about where and of what I'd get.

LOL, I've been financially independent for years and am much too old to care about what mommy and daddy think, but I have to admit that my parents haven't seen my tattoos yet either. I don't know why I'm so shy about it with them, but I guess it's probably because getting a tattoo is *way* outside their reality sphere.

I finally decided what I wanted to get for my third tattoo:
It's the turtle on the top row in the middle. The turtle is my family's ancestral spirit, and I figured that it would be nice to honor my family again. I wanted something unique though, so I heard about a tattoo artist from Tahiti who will be in Honolulu this summer...hopefully I can score an appointment with him because I hear he's in great demand!!!

Lol, I know what you mean. This is me exactly. I'm walking around in long pants so my parents don't see it.
I shouldn't care what they think, but I just don't don't want to go through the "I'm so disappointed in you. Why would you do that?' drama.

Bump
Still don't have pics of my tattoos yet (my scanner isn't working and I am to lazy to go to a shop and them put it on a disc for me) but soon.
I haven't told my parents about them yet, but the other day as I was getting out the car my shirt came up and my mum saw my tattoo. She asked what was on my back and I was like nothing. Then she asked me why I did that and I got the "I am so disappointed in you, you'll regret it when you're my age" lecture. So I said to her when I am your age who will be looking at my back? And she said what about your husband so I said to her well if he doesn't like my tattoos he shouldn't have married me.
Turns out she wasn't mad, a little upset. But her co-worker thinks I'm cool
She did tell me not to show my dad...I think i'll take her advice on this one...he will kill me
However...she still doesn't know about my other 2

Lady Pi Phi-- My mom isn't thrilled about mine either, and I am 34. LOL. Her 55 year old best friend, however, thinks its the coolest thing she's ever seen. Which is why I let Linda in on it before I got it done.
Oh well. They are our bodies, we will live with our choices. Personally, I don't think I will ever regret mine, because, like you said, when I am old and wrinkled, the only person looking at my back is gonna be mr amycat. And he has a tattoo of his own that will get old and wrinkled too.
