I'm Greek and Italian and I find it very offensive when I hear derogatory comments about Italians. He's not racist. He just thinks the off-color jokes that he's repeating are funny. I wasn't too moved by "Black Jesus" until he proudly likened it to "Barack the Magic Negro." That is satire that is funnier the first time around.
On another note, calling him a "redneck pig" isn't any better. You're a white person typing to a white person but it's unnecessary to assume he's a redneck. Plus, the concept of a "racist redneck pig" is certainly a stereotype rooted in class bias.
