UCLA Chi Omega got 40 new members but don’t know what quota is.

Greek life at UCLA seems to be not as prominent as it was. PNM'S seem only focused on joining a few perceived "top tier" chapters, and then dropping out of recruitment if they are not invited back to these chapters. That was the case when my son, who was in fraternity, attended UCLA in the 2016-2020ish era.
That was also the case at UCSB in the eighties, when I was there. The chapter I joined closed pretty quickly. Multiple chapters were brought to campus in a short time, 1981-1987, and all but one have closed. Two chapters that colonized in the 1990's also closed. The mind-set of PNM's only focusing on a few chapters is unfortunate, because it weakens the system as a whole.

My chapter of Alpha Epsilon Phi, Beta Epsilon at MIT, is dormant as of September 2022. Apologies if this has been posted upthread. I only found out the other day - the announcement email got lost in my inbox. (Reposting the comment I just posted on the 2022-23 recruitment thread.)

Sorry to hear about your chapter closing. Hopefully they'll return soon.

Southern Methodist University recruitment will be taking place between January 8th and end on January 14th. Alpha Delta Pi will only be there for the first round then conduct their separate recruitment shortly after, and Gamma Phi will not be participating due to the chapter closing at the end of the semester. I am also hearing some rumors that SMU might move to a fall recruitment format, which would shock the heck out of me.
