I wonder if they're really going to maintain the "5 years later" storyline or are they going to say Katherine was daydreaming or in shock or something. I'm not surprised that Bree is the new "Martha Stewart" (sounds like they were talking about publishing a book) and Gabby....WHOA!!!! You could tell she looked WAY different..but those kids were older than 5 years old I think. The Mike/Susan thing is just OUT THERE...lord only knows what that explanation will be since it involves Susan.

I don't think the Katherine/Dylan story is over. I looked away from the TV when she was taking the doll away from young Dylan so maybe I missed something, but why did Katherine take the doll away and put it on top of that cabinet? I think she was also saying something like "He won't get Dylan" or something like that. Was there a reason she put the doll where she did?

What scene did Gabby slip on Ellie's name? I'm going to have to go rewatch that now!

I do love how they all came together on Katherine's side though! That was nice. Bree has done quite a bit of character development this season...too bad we missed out on some additional information due to the writer's strike.

The reason she put it up on the bookcase was because she was saying it was the night she was going to stand up to Wayne to let him know that him and his gifts were not welcome. (Before they got inside, the woman taking care of Dylan said that Wayne stopped by and gave Dylan a bike and a doll that she wouldn't let out of her sight)

Everything in the spoilers happened, but I didn't know how they were going to pull it off. It did say that one of the husbands was going off to jail. Could this have been Mike? I expected it to be Bree's hubby.

Marcia looked old because they put her in black. One thing I have always been taught as a red-head, is never to wear black or navy since it washes you out.

If you are interested in what is up for next season, highlight what is below:

Season 5 spoilers
The show will be back in the fall (probably September).

As revealed in the spoilers for the season finale, next season takes us FIVE years into the future and stays there.
Lynette's kids will be recast; they're juvenile delinquents.
Mrs. McCluskey's hard of hearing.
Bree's well on her way to becoming the next Martha Stewart.
Carlos remains blind.
Katherine is still living on Wisteria Lane and is closer to the other women now.
Edie returns to Wisteria Lane, having also gone through significant change as well.
Susan has a new husband, played by Gale Harold. Mike may or may not be back. (They've played the "James-Denton-won't-know-if-he's-back-til-June" card after season 1 and 2, so best bet is that he will, in fact, return.) Many have already emailed wondering if Susan's new husband is Adam; no, he's not, though I guess Gale Harold and Nathan Fillion look a bit alike.
Oh, and Susan's son may go by "M.J." so we probably won't have to hear "Maynard" a lot.

Gone from the show: Julie, Danielle, Dylan, and the actors playing Lynette's kids. the kids who've played Lynette's kids til now may or may not be back for a few flashbacks next season.

Say hello to Kaila Say and Danielle Baltodano, who are playing Gabrielle's daughters Juanita and Celia. Gabrielle will be frustrated her kids don't live up to her standards of beauty. Gabrielle's hardly living up to her own standards of beauty either, as the stress of living with a blind husband and two kids is hard on her.

There will be 24 episodes next season.

Other spoilers
As Marc Cherry's been saying since November of 2004, he plans on ending the show with season 7. After that, he hopes to follow up with a spin-off entitled Vicious Cheerleaders. (Please, make that happen!! I've been itching for more on the show since he first mentioned it 2 years ago.)
DH creator Marc Cherry is considering setting the seventh and final season in the year BEFORE DH began, when Mary Alice and Mrs. Huber, among others, still lived on Wisteria Lane.

I like that they're changing things up. Good for DH, doing something different and all.

Also love that Katherine is fully likeable now and that the women covered for her. It's nice that she's "added" to the group.

Not until 2011

If you want to read more on the "5 years later", USA Today had a great article

That was a great article! And now that we know they're going forward, I like the idea of the last season going back to pre-season 1. That would be interesting!

I don't know how I feel about that. I think I'd rather have a closing than a prequel.

I kind of liked the 5 years in the future thing.

I'm actually glad the whole Kayla thing was resolved. Lord that child was a serial killer in the making.

I want Adam to be back, because then I can drool over Nathan Fillion (who I loved, loved, loved in his like 5 eppy arc in Buffy and then on Firefly).

I think it is odd that Susan would be married, again, but hey it's a drama and there are women out there who are constantly getting married, divorced and then remarried (repeating the cycle).

I wonder if Susan was married to him. Now that Julie is off at Princeton, she might live with another man.

One thing that threw me was Danielle heading to Columbia. I don't remember her being smart enought to get into Columbia.

I honestly can't picture a woman like Gabi being ok with having two butterball toddlers.

Lynette's kids--I get them all confused. Did the cop mention "Porter"? If so, who is Porter? Is he the youngest boy? Now if he's one of the twins, then juvenile delequency isn't too much of a stretch.

I hope (the character of) Kayla comes back. She's too batsh*t crazy not to.

They didn't really show the labor/birth. They cut from when Susan was going into labor and jumped to when she was holding "Maynard" in her arms. As is typical with Susan, I would have expected her to give birth in the back of a police car.
