At "fun" functions I almost always hear cursing and misogyny from fraternity members while wearing para and clearly representing their organizations, even in the presence of older members. I know that if I had constantly heard NPHC women collectively yelling things like "XYZ, f*** you trick a** b****es," at each other, I wouldn't have considered joining for a second.
Now perhaps you've seen sorority women acting classless, there's no need to try to prove that it happens. But when it happens, it is a scandal and you talk about them, no? When men do it it seems expected. I don't understand how no one sees a disconnect between upholding certain ideals and behaving in front of crowds like you would never behave in front of your mother.

That comes from that whole pseudo macho image some fraternity members like to keep up. I still trying to figure out what is so macho about refering to women as such. XYZ frat will have a women's appreciation breakfast and that night women are all types of b****** and h** in their chants at parties. Not a big fan of those types of chants.

There is a NPHC frat at my school that used to (maybe they still do, but I don't party anymore) do this chant that would say: "F**k a ABC (NPHC Sorority), all I wanna F**K is a XYZ (another NPHC Sorority)." That would be the WORST (IMHO) of the degrading women chants especially since both sororities were present.

I usually "boooooo" when I hear those types of chants.
I remember a coming out show years ago when the frat was about to greet a particular sorority. But they introduced their greeting with an extremely derogatory chant and movements toward the other sororities. Like "f*** XZY...I had her....." Even the older members of the sorority they greeted smiled and did their call as if it was flattering. I can't see how ANYONE can feel complimented when it's preceeded by such disrespect.
The only things that are separating that one group of women from those that are being disrespected are 3 symbols. 3 symbols that those dudes don't really care about. And those same dudes will disrespect them with or without those 3 symbols as soon as the coming out show is over.

One year at our national convention there was a step show competition. Back then it was between all members of the NPHC. The ques came on doing the Ol Mother Hubbard routine (it was about her living in a shoe and "boning" all of the time.) We started booing and our national president stopped the show and asked them to leave the stage. One of the judges who was an Omega got up and apologized to the audience and sorors. He subsequently wrote a letter to their Grand Basileus and the chapter was disciplined.
It was after that, that we changed our step show competition to Deltas only.

Once, I was at a coming out show where the word b**** was on repeat mode . When XYZ sorority presented their new members their big sisters told them to greet the b****** of ABC sorority. The new members then proceeded to tell them what types of b****** they were. So much for that U.N.I.T.Y.

In my best Flava Flav voice, "Woooooooooooooooow".
The ladies of the other sororities should have left.
As a matter of fact, everyone should have.

I just finished watching it.
You know good and well that you don't want to have to "sit" on one knee and do the "Alpha sign" during your entire chapter meeting.
