Take classes online...using your mobile phone
I wonder what happens if you lose your signal??
TOKYO - Japanese already use cell phones to shop, read novels, exchange e-mail, search for restaurants and take video clips. Now, they can take a university course.
Cyber University, the nation's only university to offer all classes only on the Internet, began offering a class on mobile phones Wednesday on the mysteries of the pyramids.
For classes for personal computers, the lecture downloads play on the monitor as text and images in the middle, and a smaller video of the lecturer shows in the corner, complete with sound.
The cell phone version, which pops up as streaming video on the handset's tiny screen, plays just the Power Point images.

Roadkill Teddies
I am just finding all kinds of wierdness today
http://www.metro.co.uk/weird/article...1&in_page_id=2
Give your loved one a road kill toy for Christmas
Animal and cute toy lovers look away now.
First came the toys which turned venereal diseases and parasites into the cutest of soft toys, now prepare for road kill toys.
A toy designer has come up with a gory end for teddy bears and other cuddly animal toys.
The first to be launched is Twitch, the Roadkill Teddy, which comes complete with opaque plastic body bag to keep the maggots out and attached to its twitching toe is an identity bag giving details of its demise.
According to its tag it was run over over by a milk float last Thursday, near the Hangar Lane Giratory system in London.
The toy's innards and blood can be stuffed in and out of his body. A zip on each side contains the blood and guts.
Its eyes are goggling, tongue is lolling around and a tyre print runs across its back.
The toys' creators, Compost Communications, have styled themselves 'toy terrorists' and according to their website: 'We squash and burn and bludgeon and maim. But we're also toy fanatics like you. We love toys.'

Found this in a blog yesterday, with no attribution. It'd be a great Onion news article. I would love to know its original source:

Quote:
In a news conference Deanna Favre announced she will be the
starting QB for the Packers this coming Sunday. Deanna asserts
that she is qualified to be starting QB because she has
spent the past 16 years married to Brett while he played QB
for the Packers. During this period of time she became
familiar with the definition of a corner blitz, and is now
completely comfortable with other terminology of the
Packers offense. A survey of Packers fans shows that
50% of those polled supported the move.
Does this sounds idiotic and unbelievable to you?
Well, Hillary Clinton makes the same claims as to why she
is qualified to be President and 50% of democrats polled
agreed. She has never run a City, County, or State.
When told Hillary Clinton has experience because she has
8 years in the white house, Dick Morris stated
"so has the pastry chef".

Its not there yet, but I'm sure Snopes will put something up soon - there are a BUNCH of different variations out there, but they are usually pretty good about narrowing the source down a bit.
My guess is someone made it up for e-mail forwards, then it made it to blogs/forums. Still pretty funny.

Well, it's obviously not a real news story; simply written as one. It's not something Snopes will pick up, I don't think. This is not really even a fake news story. It's an analogy, and, IMHO, a very good one, though written as a story.
The real point is that even Deanna Farvre (if there even is such a person; I barely know Brett Farve plays football) wouldn't be that stupid; yet the American public can be.

Just as a general rule it's exactly the thing that Snopes picks up. It depends on how widely spread it is for them to hear about it.

I am pretty emphatically not a Hillary fan, and yet, the analogy pretty much falls apart on any level:
Brett Favre's wife has never played football or any sport seriously as far as I know that would make her in any way qualified take over her husband's jobs.
Hillary on the other hand, as much as I dislike her, is fairly well qualified politician at this point in her own right. Her Senate experience puts her at the same level as Thompson, and Obama, if we're just looking at being elected and serving in the Senate (as opposed to actually holding views or supporting the positions we want to see supported, which I prefer as qualifications).
Sure, her experience is limited and it's largely a result of the exposure that she got being married to Bill, but to compare the situation to the Brett Favre's wife taking over for him seems simply absurd.
ETA: If Lynne Cheney actually ran for office would you consider her well qualified? I think I would. I think this Hillary/Favre thing would be less attractive as an analogy if anything Hillary said was something that you agreed with.

Remember the time she attacked a reporter at an airport?

uh....blood tests aren't done to do dna matching. IF they are required it is more of a STD check, or to test for Measles antibodies etc.
I think it is less gross because they didn't even know they were related seeing has how they were adopted and grew up not knowing about each other. I think it is sad to find your love and then find out that they are your sibling.
It would be scary to be adopted knowing that could happen.
