Angry Father questioned after children found dead in blazing car

Monday, April 3, 2006; Posted: 1:21 p.m. EDT (17:21 GMT)

LOS ANGELES (AP) -- The bodies of two young children were found in a burning car Sunday, and police suspect their father set the blaze, officials said.

After extinguishing the fire, firefighters discovered the bodies of two children in the sport utility vehicle on a downtown alley, said Brian Humphrey, a fire department spokesman.

Their names and ages were not immediately released.

"There were two individuals that were placed in a car -- two kids -- and the car was set on fire," police Sgt. Lee Sands said.

How could you do that your own kids? Put them in foster care, giving them up for adoption, let Big Momma raise them....something! But to set them on fire in a car leaves me speechless. This may sound terrible but I hope that demon of a father at least gave them something to knock them completely out so they wouldn't feel thing as he burned them to death.

Something similar happened in Charlotte a couple of weeks ago. Father had the kids for the weekend. Made the kids keep calling the mom all weekend. Dad spoke to her saying which of her co-workers would help her mourn their deaths. SHe left work and found the apartment where Dad lived set on fire. I think he shot both of them first and then set them on fire.

Post Up In Their Grills

http://www.thesmokinggun.com/archive/0410062teeth1.html

Feds fail in bid to seize dental ornaments from accused drug dealers

APRIL 10--Federal prosecutors last week tried to reach into the mouths of two accused drug dealers and remove ornamental "grills" affixed to the men's teeth. Arguing that the gaudy "cosmetic dental appliances" were evidence of ill-gotten gains, investigators convinced a Tacoma judge to sign a warrant authorizing their seizure. In a March 29 affidavit supporting the seizure, a Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives agent stated that grills were "symbols which drug traffickers purchase to portray their status in the criminal community." The affidavit, a copy of which you can find below, apparently convinced Magistrate J. Kelley Arnold to order the grills (which can reportedly cost up to $25,000) removed from the mouths of inmates Flenard Neal, Jr. and Donald Lewis. But when lawyers for the men protested the seizure of the grills--which are permanently bonded to the teeth of Neal and Lewis--Arnold issued an April 4 stay of his order, because removal "would unduly compromise their dental health." Since the prosecution's seizure demand was filed under seal, defense attorneys only learned of the government action when Neal and Lewis called to report they were about to be transported to a Seattle dentist for the extraction procedure. Beware of Raid

Wife catches husband, woman together, attacks with can of bug spray

ATHENS, Ala. That'll teach them for being unfaithful.
Seems police in Athens charged a local woman with domestic violence for clobbering her husband and another woman on their heads with a can of Raid bug spray after she found them together.

Police said a -- quote -- "nosy neighbor" called the woman at work on Friday and told her husband was at their apartment having an affair with another woman. The woman left work and went home where she found the two together.

Officers said the unnamed woman who was struck needed stitches for a head wound, and the husband was also cut but didn't require medical treatment.

26-year-old Cornelia Cottrell Smith of Athens was arrested and was released from the City Jail after posting a one-thousand dollar bond.

Angry Doctor throws 2 kids, self off balcony

DAVID FISCHER
Associated Press

MIAMI BEACH, Fla. - Qinuo Van Dyk heard one of her children screaming from an adjacent room at a landmark South Beach hotel, walked into the room and saw her husband jump off the 15th-floor balcony, police said.

She looked over the railing and saw her husband and two young children lying on a mezzanine roof at the Loews Hotel about two floors above the ground.

Dr. Edward Van Dyk, 43, tossed his 4- and 8-year-old sons to their deaths Saturday morning, Miami Beach Police spokesman Bobby Hernandez said. Authorities did not release the boys' names.

Angry Disabled 3 yr old left in closet to die while foster parents attend family reunion

Prosecutor: Tape-wrapped boy left in closet to die
POSTED: 1:01 p.m. EDT, August 30, 2006

CINCINNATI, Ohio (AP) -- The foster parents of a disabled 3-year-old boy wrapped him like a cocoon and left him for two days in a closet, where he died while they attended a family reunion, a prosecutor said.

The couple made several attempts to burn Marcus Fiesel's body and concocted an elaborate sham to cover up the boy's death, Hamilton County Prosecutor Joe Deters said Tuesday.

"Marcus was wrapped in a blanket and wrapped in tape with his arms behind him -- and this was not the first time," Deters said in announcing additional indictments against Liz and David Carroll Jr.

Son gets marijuana for doing homework

GETTYSBURG, Pa. - A woman admitted to smoking marijuana daily with her 13-year-old son to reward him for completing his homework. Amanda Lynn Livelsberger, 30, pleaded guilty to several charges Monday and will be sentenced Nov. 27.

Livelsberger, of Conewago Township, admitted in Adams County court that she had been smoking marijuana with her son since he was 11, and that she often gave it to him as a reward.

The boy told police that he was required to do his homework as soon as he got home from school, and then was allowed to smoke marijuana with his mother, according to court documents.

That made my head hurt and my stomach churn. There may be a special place in Hell for them.

This is crazy to me. Is being a foster parent that lucrative? I always hear the comment that people become foster parents for the check. Money hungry azzez.

I was talking to a Soror yesterday whose friend (also a Soror) is a social worker. How about Social Worker Soror's co-worker had a client who the judge specifically said DO NOT SEND THIS KID back to the parents. What does coworker do? She tells foster parents we will still send you the check but she put the kids back with the parents.

Hearing stuff like that fuels my desire to be a foster parent someday. I've always wanted to adopt or serve as a foster parent because every child derserves the feelings of security, love, and just knowing that someone is definitely in their corner. The check has nothing to do with my ambition that I've had for a few years now.
