peterson may one day be a Heisman Finalist but it will definately not be this year, he is going to be splitting too many carries with the other backs for that plus once major conference play starts his numbers will drop, also due to the splitting of reps. He's good but still a freshman and he's way hyped up.

I don't know. It's not like Oregon's defense was bad. They were really good if nothing else.
The man still averaged 7.7 YPC!
He is well deserving of Heisman hype. I agree that he won't win it next year. But if he continues to improve, next year, the trophy is his.
And Mark May had damned well better call him the "Best athlete in America".
The Big XII had a damned good outing today. Texas A&M is hugely improved over last week. Nice shallacking of Clemson.

Mildcats up next. And we've got a bye week to prepare. I've said it before, i like our chances against anybody at Kyle Field. We must learn to play better on the road however. After that, we're lookin at ISU and OSU. Could be 4-1 going into the OSU game. that would be HUGE.
The "D" played great, and Reggie had the kind of game we have all been waiting for since OU '02. I really hope this is the sign of better days to come.

Just got back from the Stanford-USC game! WOW!!! What an effort by Stanford! I am really proud of the way they played, and I give congratulations to USC for a great second half defense. They really shut us down and limited us to only 36 total yards in the second half. That Reggie Bush is really good, and Matt Leinert showed a lot of poise. There is no way that Stanford could ever get those kind of players, so I am not too upset (but I do hate to lose!!!). I definitely have something to look forward to for the rest of the season if we can play as well as we did today. I would have loved for us to have won, but to only lose by three points after the #1 ranked USC Trojans were favored by 22 1/2, says that we might have a chance to surprise some teams this fall. I know that no one is going to take us for granted now!

If I were a betting man, my money'd be on Cal at least to cover. I don't think USC will make it through the season undefeated.

We got an evening game yesterday instead of an 11 o'clock one which meant that we were all pretty sloshed by the time the game rolled around. Everybody's so used to getting up at 8 AM to drink that they forgot we had an extra six hours this week. Three power hours later . . . I was surprised most of my friends even made it to the game.
Anyway, I don't really remember how the team looked but the UW crowd was in fine, fine form last night.
