Thanks ST. I thought her name was odd. I have heard of Ione, but the article threw me off since they spelled it Ion.

I LOOOOOOVE me some Vince Carter, but, alas, I cannot have him. So, instead I will be happy for him and his pretty new wife-t-be...
P.S. I don't why some of ya'll are surprised that she is Balck/African-American...Vince is a "brother"--he majored in Afro-Am (not that that means much , as I know of some Caucasian Afro-Am majors also--but it means something) at UNC, and was all about getting that diploma...

I remember about VC getting the diploma.
*Hijack/My opinion*
I think that people are surprised about VC and Dr. Rucker just simply because of the fact that more than a few wealthy, high-profile black or multiracial men (err, Eldrick) aren't dating or marrying black women. I still think that much of the furor over interracial relationships is because of the perception/reality that the "better catches" aren't interested in us. I'm not sure we'd be so irked if it was Quantaquavious, Pookie, Man Man or Ray Ray crossing over.
*End hijack.*

Ditto on that, Ideal 08. I was at UNC when Vince first got there, he was cool peoples. But when did Antawn get married? lol I missed that.
side bar: I had a white AfAm professor who constantly tried to belittle the Black students' comments in class. He wasn't liked very much. Just b/c you studied it extensively doesnt mean you, a white man, can tell me, a BLACK woman, what its like to be black.
end side bar.. lol
just had to share that..

Just because an item has our colors and the like (directed specifically to an org) doesn't mean one has to run out and buy it.

I agree. I thnk a lt of people who do not stop and think about the ramifications of a company trying to exploit our memebership might think they are cute and buy them because they like them and do not realize there is a reason why they should leave them on the shelf.
I do think the fact they are specifically targeting our orgs and are doing all of this on purpose is disheartening. They knew exactly what they were doing putting 1908 on a pink and green shoe or 1913 on a red and white shoe.
